But I know hopefully one day we'll look back and think, wow, dust used to be terrible thank goodness we're past that era ... I don't think you realise how CCP designs games. Dust won't ever be "finished", just like Eve is never finished. They will always add features. And yes, that means not all features will be there from the start. Hell, there are things in Eve that NO ONE even thought about when the game first came out. I've been here since playing eve since beta don't lecture me. Was eve released with minmatar frigates but no minmatar weapons, randomly only having only caldari and gallente battleships, or released with ships that have bonuses to weapons not in the game for years? No, no it didn't. So shut it, I've heard this 1000 times. What is with your people, I understand full well how CCP design games. You on the other hand obviously have no idea. My point was when people log into dust the IMPRESSION *reading comprehension ftw!* people get is "wow this game is unfinished." The impression players get is all that is important. While eve had a rough start it wasn't missing any super basic core content also had more players online than dust has now. A 60$ PC MMO title in 2002 with 15$ a month price tag at release had more players online than a f2p console shooter also made by CCP does in the same release timeframe. Do the ****ing math. People get an awful taste in their mouth when they try dust, it's not like it's not justified. Even if it's ignorance of the fact that CCP will never stop changing the game, they won't know that, they will only know what they can see. Eve expands outwards, Dust is expanding inwards because there is no base to expands out from yet. We are waiting on core content that should've been in the game on release. It hurts the game in profound way, end of story.
I can only give you one like for this post, but in my heart,I'm giving you at least five.
This whole presentation from CCP feels like a desperate act to me.They they are still shedding players almost weekly, without any of them to EVER return, added with the fact that PS4 is only a few weeks away, and even more people will be leaving.Less players means less chance for those players to buy AUR.
I honestly feel like without an announcement of this game going to PS4,this game will be dead in the water.I honestly can't see any more than 2,000~2,500 players online this time next year.
Next gen consoles will be dominating and more than likely hitting their full stride this time next year with MUCH better games than Dust, thus why would anyone still be playing this game with a tiny playerbase and missing assets?
IMO,the only thing that could possibly save Dust,is a move to PS4 AND a name change.Calling it Dust 514 on PS4 would more than likely be a bad move, considering that people that played it and totally ripped it will be more inclined to have a built in prejudice of it.

Oh,another problem.
The guy starts talking about the future of Dust, from now through 2014.The first thing he mentions is adding more MMO to the game, and the second thing is and improved marketplace?!
This is very telling to me.Again, more concern is going towards things that should be lower on the "Things To Do" list.
Too worried about how they are going to monetize the game, instead of how they are going make a game that's fun to play.
They still need to work on overall mechanics of the game, framerate, and lag.
The foundation of this game is still very weak and something that CCP has constantly neglected in favor of more content and monetizing elements. |

So I just finished watching pretty much the whole presentation, and I'm more convinced now than ever,Dust 514 will be dead with in 12 months.
It was stated and reiterated that they are "laser focused" on developing for PS3.This is pretty much a death sentence for the game.
On top of that, these changes regarding Loyalty Points without ever once defining what needed to be fixed with the core mechanics of the gameplay is more evidence to me that they really have no idea how to develop a shooter.
One thing I wished from the peanut gallery is that someone would have asked the question of what steps are CCP taking to acquire and bring back more players to the game. All of these so called changes and improvements won't mean squat when the playerbase is topping out at 2,000 players online at any given time.I'm sorry, but if anyone thinks that this game can be a viable entity with this much development, and that few of players, they are fooling themselves.
I was a little annoyed with the guys saying that there are 80 million PS3's,as if everyone that has a PS3 is 1)using it's online functionality, and 2) are all playing Dust. This guy is obviously directing damage control more than anything else, but no one with half a brain is being fooled.
