Arma II

So many damn sequels on there.

I said "Greatest"

Perfect Dark.

Though GoldenEye, Halo (2, or maybe 3), Bad Company 2, and CoD4 deserve a mention.

Also, never played it but I'm surprised no one has mention Timesplitters yet.

ARMA 2 seems amazing.

Never played it, but really wished I do.

TimeSplitters 2

MAG was the greatest ever,but after playing it lately,it's a mere shell of it's former self now,but when it was in it's prime,there's nothing that could come close to touching the pure chaos of the battlefield.

Honestly,even though it's third person and I don't even know if I can qualify it as a shooter,Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is perhaps the funnest online experience that I've ever had.

There's NOTHING that can compare to 1vs1 lightsaber duels to the death! NOTHING!

Chivalry Medieval Warfare is pretty damn fun too in the same way but with way more brutality.

As for shooter's that weren't online,the game Black on PS2 was f'ing awesome.

MAG had a prime?

And proxy chat is the most brilliant thing for PVP FPS games!

Counter-Strike 1.6 is king of the twitch shooters.

Tribes 2 is king of the aerial shooters.

Unreal Tournament is king of the arena shooters.

Goldeneye is king of the nostalgia shooters.

Operation Flashpoint is king of the "hide in a bush for two hours" shooters.

Halo is king of the single player shooters.

Half-Life is king of the nobody actually plays half-life but we all play the mods shooters.

F.E.A.R. is king of the horror shooters.

Dust is the king of unfulfilled promises on a terrible piece of hardware.

Powerslave 2 was the best multiplayer FPS that never existed...

Edit: And I'm severely disappointed in the lack of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on that list.

Uh,NO!

MAG existed because it was a take off of the first Planetside game,but theyr were using the same engine that ran SOCOM.It has nothing to do with Operation Flashpoint whatsoever.

I can't believe no more people remember Operation Flashpoint ( The 1st one ) Was "Revolutionary" at is time, 1st game to introduce the "Combat Simulation / tactical shooter " game-play. And most importantly the "Daddy" of the Arma games.

More like ; Hey, you know what would be cool ? we should vote for MAG, even if most of us are not playing that game anymore.

COD 4, Bare bones COD without the gimmicks is still one of my favourites. Competeitive and Balanced. Good gun game and a solid engine.

Timesplitters was the first multi-console game I had, we would connect two PS2's and duke it out 8 man style till early hours, this was back in 2002 :O

Says a lot about what a big impression that game made on most of us....

If there'd still be Euro servers I would still play it. Unfortunately with 500 ping constantly its not all that fun these days...

If DUST is going to stay on this list then you should just add Homefront to this list as well.

DUST is just as, if not more broke than Homefront was/is.

But borderlands 2 was amazing. They need a better pvp than duels but the graphics, artistic design and story puts it so far out in front. All the weapons, classes and customization are unbeleivably satisfying and emersive.
