I am starting a series examining the average blueberry this is part 1. Why Blueberries won't push objectives. So I have a few theories 1. They're afraid of the Big Bad Proto Bear so they think that if they stay back with a sniper rifle he won't see them. 2. They got a rude awaking coming out of the academy and they don't know what button to press to hack an objective. They don't want to admit this so they snipe. 3. They're brains are mush because they've been sniffing the clone goo
If anyone else has theories feel free to put them down |

You have the standard blueberry, which this topic is referring to and then you have the blue dot, which is what you're referring to. |

this is way to fair and balanced. Time for us to put our big boy pants on. We need incentive to win, not a trophy for losing. Hopefully when matchmaking works it will change.

I once went into a match where I was among the very few players (2 or 3 total) that actually tried to push on the objectives but kept getting killed in the process because our only backup was camping in the hills. What amazed me was the fact that there were 5 mercs from my team that were on one part of the map in Manus Peak just 100 meters away from the C objective on the west side. They even had the top-hill advantage and there were only 3 enemy mercs by the objective. They could have pushed them out easily. But no, they just stood there sniping from the same hill. All 5 of them.
The remainder of the team was just camping other parts of the hills while they let the enemy capture and hold all of the objectives from the beginning of the match to the end with only me and maybe 2 other guys running around trying to actually do something.
If those blueberries thought they were helping us by sniping, then they weren't helping at all because it was pretty obvious they sucked as snipers.
By the way, I define a Blueberry as any player who refuses to be a team player and instead chooses to do something that doesn't benefit the team in any way towards winning the match. |

Sometimes I wonder if the newer (not newest) players blew SP to fast on expensive gear. Resulting in rapid isk drain, and a fear of dying. Using the starter fits to earn back isk may not be on their radar, or something they want to do? |

Its because they are working for Scotty to ruin your day.
But seriously I find it is because it is what all the other "berries" are doing. I squaded once with a guy who was new and he basically said that he can't afford to go anywhere alone or he is dead even if he gets the drop on them. So he just went wherever the blue horde is so that he has a chance at survival. |

The average player of this game is in an NPC corp. He isn't very good at this game, and doesn't have the SP of beta vets. Anytime he goes off somewhere on his own he gets killed. So its self-preservation combined with a vulture mentality.
They're not likely to take initiative, but they'll swarm easily enough if they see that their own team is successfully pushing. |

Pubstomps are demoralizing for everyone, even the stompers. Newberries are absolutely terrified of them, they are just not fun.
Need a level- playing field mode where people can associate their failures with their personal skill level, and not the level of gear they face. |

Multiple possibilities.
1. area has way too many hostiles and not enough people to defend you while you hack. 2. there's actually sniper making the capture more difficult. 3. Has a more important role to fulfill (provide intel with scanner or keep the squad alive) 4. Battle is already lost. Better to use cheap fits and try to inflict as much financial damage to other players as possible.
It's actually ton of fun to form a squad of people (2-3) wearing fits that cost literally nothing, and popping players in expensive equipment using tactics, team work and whatever comes to mind. Too bad that there's no match Income ratio in matches. |

My theory is the blueberry starts acting like a kid who gets mad when he has to actually work to accomplish what he wants and the prize doesn't come easy. They don't blame their tactics, or try to work with other mercs. So when a organized team stomps the blueberries, they respond in a manner that is befitting of a kid crossing his arms, pouting his lips and shouting "I quit!"
Especially if we control 3 out of 5 objectives. The blueberry will attack the other objectives instead of taking a sentry approach and understanding we don't need the other 2 as long as we are ahead.
One thing I'm tired of is trying to save a blueberry's behind and he does nothing. Return fire you ape!! Throw a nade in mass crowds!! Why are you running in the middle of it like militia means you are clark kent in New Eden? |

A commander role is needed for each team to knock some sense into everyones doings. At the moment all you can do is stick with your squad and anticipate as best as possible other solo'ers and squads moves and hope that they will do the same in exchange.
There is also the possibility when soloing to just not join a squad right from the start but wait to drop on the map. Then speak out orders and then jump in to an existing empty squad slot. At least the ones the play solo know what's up.
Right now its your squad vs everyone else... just bull.

Top 10 Reasons why blubies don't hack 1. The voice comms are turned to team instead of squad, 2. the voice comms are turned to corp instead of team or squad, 3. the voice comms are not on, the girlfriend wanted to try it and doesn't know how to play, 4. the dog is actually chewing on the controller, the dog has a speech impediment so doesn't ask for help, 5. the player's mom won't let him talk to people online so he leaves his mic unhooked and the comms off, 6. all he wan't to do is play COD but his girlfriend set her coffee mug on top of it ruining the disk so he downloaded dust and only knows how to run around the edge of the map, 7. the red berries are all over there and killing is against his religion. 8. everyone likes red christmas lights 9. they are operating under the assumption that you need to skill into hacking to do it, 10. because mike didn't do it. |
