I've been noticing that in the past week, I have spent nearly zero time in the warbarge. Whenever I queue into a game (either solo or with a squad), I'm either instantly deployed into the map screen or have a split second where I see a partially rendered warbarge, then go to the map screen.
Is this intended? It seems to make my games go faster, unless the warbarge lobby time was just lumped into the waiting for deployment time and it's all in my head. I'd prefer to bring the warbarge back because at least you can see who you are up against before having to deploy. |

The warbarge time was shortened for both public contracts and faction warfare so you spend more time in battle and less time standing around. Depending on how fast your PS3 loads or at what point you join the battle, you may not see it at all. |

I actually much prefer the old warbarge time. It gave me time to find a squad (since the team chat window takes forever to load the players/squads). I don't really like doing that during battle since that wastes valuable time getting to the objectives (and is probably a death wish in Ambush). |

Another vote for bringing back the war barge time. While the ~2 minutes it used to be is probably too much, at least some time in lobby was really helpful in assessing the teams and getting players into squads. 30-60 seconds would usually be enough time to accomplish those tasks without causing too much of a delay between battles. |

Bring it back, i Used that time when soloing to find a decent squad, and I know most people did too. how do you expect noobs to find squads to join with 4 seconds to do so? |

I would rather have more organised 16 vs 16 fights from the very beginning of the match than the match starting as half full and players then loading into an unorganised mess.
Personally I've not seen the warbarge timer a single time since the change due to a very slow PS3, and I don't like that. A 60 or 90 second timer would be fine I imagine. |

It should be dynamic...
Just have it not count down at all untill both sides fill up. then have a 1:00 minute countdown
How is this not simpl it's like CCP starts the timer the second the match is spawned that's how the game worked back in skirmish 1.0... |

If we don't have the time in the warbarge, at least optimize the loading time for team and squad rosters so we can assess the situation and get into a squad fast. Its instant on BF3.
That circle cuts into precious time that could be spent running to objectives. |

Vote for bringing timer back. No timer is counter productive for helping new players. I also regularly used that time to restock. |

Why are so many waiting until the war barge to squad up? Don't you have corp members to play with? |

So for those wanting more WB time....whats the purpose of that?
You can squad up just as easily in game. You will actually gain more time in doing it this way. Also if you find a good squad don't you continue to run with them? Therefore you really only have to do this once per session? You say "I want to find a squad before getting into battle" Why does it matter? There is NO difference in the time spent, other than forcing those not wanting a WB timer to wait for 2 minutes while you find a squad.
In fact I would venture to guess you could find a squad before the first letter is captured, allowing you the option of spawning ahead of the pack. Getting into the action even faster than if you were to run that whole way.
If you are using the WB time to restock thats just silly...you should be doing that in the merc quarters and since there is no more wait in the WB why are you Qing up before you are ready? |

I've actually noticed more lag since people are loading into battle outside of using the war barge. It's especially bad at the very beginning of the match when people are loading in/joining. I have to admit, the war barge did provide a purpose, especially for getting into a squad in pub matches. If squad finder makes this experience better, then just remove the "blink" of the warbarge we get and put us straight on the field. Quarters to field.

Matches more often now start with half-full teams and therefor the less-stocked team doesn't even invest in trying to win the battle.
Does this show in metrics or is it just an impression I got from my limited playtime? |

WB does nothing for new players and I prefer having your restocks not increase the interval between games for those of us who are actually ready to play. Easy solution is to just restock in the quarters.
I'll agree that effectively getting rid of it completely isn't ideal, but sitting for 60+ seconds waiting for a match in a full lobby is not something I'll miss. |

Over the last few months I've noticed more and more squad invites being sent in the WB. I've jumped in several squads of randoms and had great games, gave some advice, even picked up players who ultimately became corp members. WB of late has turned into the perfect place to meet new players or just squad up randomly.
I restocked because the time was available. |

The issue with restocking in quarters if you're in a squad, but not squad leader, is that sometimes you get a squad leader that gets deploy button happy or doesn't hear you saying "Gimmie 15 seconds.".
Also, the longer warbarge time also allowed other assets to pre-load in the barge so they don't have to be loaded on deployment. For the older 5400 rpm hard drives, this does make a difference.
As for squading, I do look for a squad in my corp/alliance before going into battle. But I don't begrudge others the time to find a good squad in the warbarge.
So all that said, I think a warbarge timer of ninety seconds, or one minute after both teams are filled, wouldn't be unreasonable. I think that should give mercs plenty of time to prepare without being overly long. |

I won't disagree about the social implications, but I just don't feel that there needs to be more than ~30 sec devoted to this. And restock time we each can easily handle on an individual basis rather than building it into the WB time delaying everyone, even those who have no need to restock or have already done so. |

Now we also don't have time to see who is on the opposite team, how many they are or how many we are nor do we have time to see the Team/Squad configuration of the Blues.
Very optimized for shooting faces. Except we get to do all that in the spawn screen. |

With my idea no more running to the same objective or surprise map that you didnt know you were doing. It would be great to have the table up and running. |

Screw the old warbarge time - just make the team list of squads come up in a second - it takes about 20 seconds to come up for me, if not longer. If it took a second it'd be easy to do on the deploy screen or on the ground.

I have a group I can squad with, but squadding from the war barge was the only way I know to meet new players and find out if you like squadding with them, or hear about new things , and from their perspective.

I used to squad with some guys from one corp on here that would see enemy on the display in the war barge that they were afraid of, and they would bail out from the battle. Chicken shots that they were, it must have been overhead intensive for the system, if more than this group were doing it, and I suspect there were.
This may be why they've changed things? Personally I miss the war barge. It was my only way of meeting new people on Dust. |

Yes, this is what the community asked for. People complained heavily about long war barge times in FW, saying that it made them not play it. What you/we are experiencing is the result. |
