Seriously all 5 of our CPM's barely (if at all) play the game anymore. What happened to CPM elections? It rather see Quickgloves or Cubs as CPM (Both of whom I have been at war with, and don't see eye to eye about many things) but at least I know they are very active in game. Maybe then CCP you might be a little more in touch with your own game. |

To be honest I cant say I know much about any of them or what they do. However the only one I see around on the forums is IWS. At least he has a presence here. |

I called this last month - the current CPM have little interest in the actual players and want only to further their own goals and agendas assuming that they still play. When I called for an election so we could choose who we wanted, the CPM bashed the idea in what appears to me as a power grab. Just my thoughts. |

Bash on IWS as you will, the man has a thick skin. He's also very communicative - there's plenty of stuff that we know about because of him.
I know Hans has been active lately - I've spoken with him a lot. I've never seen Kane much, Laurent has apparently just come back from a holiday, I'm unsure about Nova, and Jenza is just full MIA. |

Laurent - never heard of him before he was identified as a "voice" in Dust and I've been in Beta since May of last year. He (?) has never said anything or communicated with the community.
IWS communicates, yes, to make himself look good. When you suggest something contrary to his vision, he shuts you out.
I've already said what I think of Kane.
Jenza was very active until she was selected for CPM and I could respect her. She and Nova are the two that I would respect enough to represent me, and they are no longer here, leaving us with the only two active CPM members as the ones who don't care about the community.
Yes we need elections. |

I cap out every week and have been running in several PC matches each week, so, yes, I still play.
I do agree that having CPM that are active in the game and community is a large priority. One thing to remember is that the forums represent a slice of the Dust community as a whole and getting feedback from in-game directly and from speaking with players directly is very important as well.
For me one of the most important aspects of CPM0 was finalizing a charter and laying the groundwork for an elected CPM1. The great thing about elections is if the community doesn't feel that a particular candidate has the merits to be a CPM then the likelihood of them being elected dries up. Personally, I'd like to see the CPM charter completed and voting procedures established as soon as possible.
If you would like to get in touch with me I'm almost always available on Skype and via in-game mail at "Kane Spero" so feel free to drop me a line there as well. |

That is all Imperfects ever attempted to do, and he was their "spokesman". When asked about things, Kane would yell and rant and rave on the forums like a mad man. He may put on an act now, but we've seen who he was before he was selected for this, and I remember how he treated people when he was a big fish in a little pond. Now, since he was selected for his current role, he tries to distance himself from his past - so that he can be re-elected.
His post in this thread, while admirable, does not change how he treated me or others in the past. I refuse to support a man who never even thought to apologize to the community that he did his best to destroy. |

jesus christ can we stop with this negative CPM garbage already? its tiring and just adds to the pile of negativity in these forums, which is way to big anyway. the CPM0 isnt going to change until the election apparatus is in place, and thats being set up, its one of the CPM0's core duties, their founding reason, CCP won't just let them ignore it. as for their activity, they do need to work on being more visible, it undermines threads like these, and yes some of them will go through periods of inactivity, RL always comes first, no exceptions, anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
and about the people on the CPM, hell i trust them way more than some of the other forum personalities around, they seem to be decidedly neutral to specific roles, which is good, the moment we get elections you can bet that we're going to start seeing things like a tankers canidate who's going to push CCP relentlessly on issues relating to tanks. the thought of some of the people on these forums actually getting a direct line to CCP and the ability to give feedback on planned features horrifies me, imagine char or regynum with that power. i'm really wary of an elected CPM, and i'll do my best to stay away from it, i can just see it turning into a clusterfuck that will turn this forum into an even bigger mire and that will do serious harm to dust. |

One thread every couple of weeks asking for change it too much? I respect you, and have for a long time, but if the voters are not happy with representation, then new representation is needed. If their job is to put the elections in place, then that is what they need to do.
There is a lot of negativity, yes, but there is also a lot of positivity on these forums - none directed at the CPM we currently have that I have seen. Point me to a thread that says that they are doing a good job - I'd love to see it.
Also - the CPM's personal lives definately come first. That said, they should also communicate with the community when they are going to be away. They took an added responsibility over that of normal players to be the face of the community. If they are going to be gone for a while - tell us. If you are no longer able to fulfill the responsibility that you VOLUNTEERED TO TAKE, then step down. Siimple. |

I don't mean to be rude but I don't think its them not being around, I think its more people don't know how to / figure out where they are in game. Plus timezones are an issue too so 2 of the CPM's not being on NA time hinders running into them.
CPM members are active on the forums, on skype and also usually are found at most event nights.
Lately, all you've seen are posts on twitter, on here or through word of mouth of events like Drunk Night, Thunderdome, Dust glitch testing and I've participated in all of the above and ran into almost EVERY CPM member.
On twitter you can find Hans and Nova regularily joking around, offering help or promoting things within the dust community that they or others have done.
Drunk Night has had Hans, Nova, Kane and IWS stop in it occasionally. CCP Logibro too and I think GM Grave(?) was there once or twice.
Thunderdome 514 I've seen Kane, and IWS there. (this was only its first week, I'm sure we'll see more pop in sooner or later)
Gimble's and Iddon's "glitch" testing or "i wanna see if this actually works" events are tougher, usually found on twitter or through word of mouth but I've run into all the North American CPM's there.

insert small grievance here
add in CPM post trying to explain how the CPM works and how they're trying to provide community feedback to CCP
add in forum warriors leaping in on CPM post and mocking it for no reason other than bitteness.
and maybe some of the grievances against the CPM could be laid to rest if people actually went into the council chamber, heinz's has the weekly update thread which is definitely worth a browse every week, and you can toss a question at the CPM, like i did with my thread on tiercide in there, IWS provided some good feedback on the individual CPM's positions on it.
and agian some members of the CPM like heinz and jenza did provide notification of holidays, moves etc, that said jenza really does need to make an appearence, she needs to be seen to be back.
as for positive CPM threads, i remember a couple of positive posts but i draw a complete blank on threads :/, end of the day its still early days yet, while its all well and good for several voters to make lots of noise about removing the current CPM and replacing them its not helpful on the how side of things, the elections will come when they come, we really don't want to rush this process. |

Tellyou what - I'll be open to considering each of the current CPM for election when it comes, but they've got to show me something. IWS using passive aggressive replies to suggestions and his not so subtle way to redirect threads to make himself look better isn't going to cut it though.
Kane's rare attempts at showing he now cares about the community in a 180 degree about face is going to have to be legit and consistent. He needs to show he cares here on the forums and in the threads.
Nova, Jenza, Hans, Laurent - they must appear on the forums as well. They cannot be absent; even if all they do is to post something funny to show that they CARE about the community, then that is enough.
If they want my support, it's got to be earned because so far I've seen nothing that does the trick. I'll lay aside what I've seen up until now, and will see what happens from here. If there is no change in behavior by our "representatives", then I see no reason to support them.

and about the people on the CPM, hell i trust them way more than some of the other forum personalities around, they seem to be decidedly neutral to specific roles, which is good, the moment we get elections you can bet that we're going to start seeing things like a tankers canidate who's going to push CCP relentlessly on issues relating to tanks. the thought of some of the people on these forums actually getting a direct line to CCP and the ability to give feedback on planned features horrifies me, imagine char or regynum with that power. i'm really wary of an elected CPM, and i'll do my best to stay away from it, i can just see it turning into a clusterfuck that will turn this forum into an even bigger mire and that will do serious harm to dust. Siimple. the thing is, i've rarely seen actual grievances in those threads, most of the time it consists of the OP angrily posting how he feels like the cpm isn't doing enough to help his role, or how the CPM should be more pro-tanks or pro-assaults etc and then we see the same old names leaping in to rag on the CPM members, im tired of these threads because theyre basically a template right now insert small grievance here add in CPM post trying to explain how the CPM works and how they're trying to provide community feedback to CCP add in forum warriors leaping in on CPM post and mocking it for no reason other than bitteness. and maybe some of the grievances against the CPM could be laid to rest if people actually went into the council chamber, heinz's has the weekly update thread which is definitely worth a browse every week, and you can toss a question at the CPM, like i did with my thread on tiercide in there, IWS provided some good feedback on the individual CPM's positions on it. and agian some members of the CPM like heinz and jenza did provide notification of holidays, moves etc, that said jenza really does need to make an appearence, she needs to be seen to be back. as for positive CPM threads, i remember a couple of positive posts but i draw a complete blank on threads :/, end of the day its still early days yet, while its all well and good for several voters to make lots of noise about removing the current CPM and replacing them its not helpful on the how side of things, the elections will come when they come, we really don't want to rush this process. If there is no change in behavior by our "representatives", then I see no reason to support them. that's fair enough, but as i've said if you want to see people like hans and laurent on the forums the best place to check and post in is the council chamber, not everything has to go in GD. |

I refuse to support a man who never even thought to apologize to the community that he did his best to destroy.[/quote] Lmfao scrub you don't know anything how many events has he done for the community? You're right it doesn't - but you know what? If they want to be part of the community then they still need to post here too. Their job is to be a bridge between the community and CCP, and not just a group that reports on things that they can tell us that don't violate their NDA. They are meant to be leaders of the community as well - and this is where they fail.
Posting in the Counsel Chamber is nice in terms of helping the game, but to be a leader of the community, you have to be part of the community and not apart from it. Squading up from channels that not everyone joins is great for those in those channels. That said, they are not the entire community, and there are a lot more players (like myself) who don't join those channels because we don't enjoy talking to people high on drugs or alcohol.
Post here. Joke here. Telling me what your NDA allows you to share doesn't show you are part of the community. What does say that you are part of the community is actually being part of the community. The closest we have to this is IWS. |

1) The Imperfects were the best but not unbeatable; you in the tournaments would have been fine with me
2) He started these events only to try to improve the Imperfects image that he also helped to create, not to make the community a better place - and he was as responsible for the bad attitude the Imperfects had as the rest of you were to being with.
3) I also said I'm willing to forget his past and focus on the present, but I see you chose to ignore that. |

OK that's 1, nice speech it almost sounds like you are running for office. So when you are not busy capping out, you sell districts for others at a hefty profit to yourself (Kain Spero Escrow services), you trade Eve ISK for dust ISK at a 10 to 1 rate (In favor of EVE) , with anyone that wants to create an empire (Quickgloves). Quite the model citizen you are, yet still the most active CPM I guess. Because the rest do basically nothing. |

+1 for reelection of cpm there are people in this game who play more know more and still give a **** about this game. |

My opinion on CPM0, all personal considerations removed, is that they did a damn fine job in difficult circumstances.
If, and probably when, we get the CPM Charter from CCP, it will be due solely to the efforts and professional conduct of the members of the CPM. CCP Shanghai would never have dreamed of instituting what has been discussed without the efforts of CPM0. I'm not being critical of CCP here, Shanghai was and is hellaciously busy and i would never expect them to prioritize the CPM at this point in the game given the pressure they're under. Let alone make the CPM a stakeholder in the early design stage of a sprint.
That Charter will be the optimal mechanism by which the players can influence the development of DUST and the EVE-DUST link and, untimately, New Eden itself.
If it becomes reality, we own credit and thanks to CPM0.
But, as grateful as i am for whet they've accomplished, when it comes to the elections for CPM1, TANSTAAFL ;) |

Also, work as CPM aint, sadly, about communicating with the community atm. I wish it was but the state of the game itself requires a different kind of work that is more subtle and sneaky.

I love when these dumbass kids come out of the woodwork when a game is dead. I'm going to start my post by saying you're a bad player and should feel bad that you continue to be bad at DUST. Secondly Kain didn't start the imperfects. Protoman and the Zitros started it. Kain came to became the leader of the imperfects to act as a failsafe in case something ever came to disrupt the original fragile alliance.
Kain started most of the community events in order to provide players with content (something CCP never seemed to do back in the day)
Kain was never responsible for the imperfect attitude. The imperfects and most members of NF are Dbags by choice. It made the game fun. Collecting the tears of the weak appeased the gods. |
