The Flaylock was nerfed bc data gathered from the game showed that the Flaylock was outperforming light weapons and heavy weapons outside of their roles, and well outside of its intended role. Therefore, it was nerfed.
From what I have seen, a very skilled AR user, a very skilled MD user, and a very skilled SR user, can all go 23:0 in a game, provided they have good squad support. It seems to me that these light weapons are performing quite well as light weapons within their intended roles.
Perhaps if the MD was doing better outside of area denial and CQC, it would need a nerf, but it does not.
For all the NERF MD ITS OP threads I see, I fail to see mass drivers performing significantly better than the ARs and even tankers. Now, I have the Freedom mass driver myself, and I'm decent with it, but I have yet to pull a 32:0 game with it more than once, and that was against a team of newberries who assaulted me in mass when i was in an elevated position (tabletop). Usually, I'll get a decent 12:0, whereas in my tank I'll get a nice 15:0 if there isn't a strong AV effort.
Point is, the MD isn't going to change, so you might as well get used to it and htfu. |

I will complain forever about the mass driver and it's spam, but not because I want it nerfed or because I think its cheap, but because as an armor tanker I just hate it naturally. If you ever squad up with me don't mind the occasional rant, it's all in good spirit |

Unfortunately it outperforms most wepaons in cqc even wepons like the shotgunn or smg get clearly outperformed by the MD. I am so sick of MD user shooting directly to their feet in hand to hand combat distance killing me without getting any damage. Thats really stupid... |

Agreed (if I understand you correctly). Minimum arming distance -- if implemented -- would fix this.
Respectfully disagree with OP.
Unmatched Area Denial? Absolutely. No problem. Rooftop Spam? Annoying, but still Area Denial. No problem. CQC EZ Mode? Problem.

To be honest, most of the complaints about explosives comes from their total unbalance vs armor. Until infantry suits get resistance mods, they effectiveness against shields/armor need to be adjusted. At this stage, to make all weapons viable as well as to stabilize damage received, most numbers need to be changed to nothing greater than 100%. Example locus grenade: 80 vs shield, 100 vs armor. Flux would need to also be addressed too. Damage should equal locus counterparts. This would make them less desirable, as they don't not damage armor, so adding a extra feature would be need to see these still used. Ideas for effects: stun, flash, slow, or stamina drain. Other effects could be nanites released from explosion: deletes enemy grenade stash from suit. |

As a prof 5 AR and prof 3 MD user I have to say this: Lololol everyone who doesn't understand that an area denial weapon is going to work wonders in cqc!
It's all about the tactics; is there a tight objective cluster with a lot of hallways (read choke points) to close off to prevent being flanked? Then FWOMP-BOOM-+50wps away! If you're trying to run thru said hallway, don't. Wait until a reload or ffs flank. Sorry that a "dynamic squad based tactical" game makes you Idk, relay info with your squad and figure out some basic tactics like flanking.
If you're running a long open stretch between objectives, the MD is sorely at a disadvantage because of the range you're at away from them and the slow MD shell travel speed. Strafe left and right while advancing, get into accurate pew pew while that MD sucker has to reload and collect 50wps.
Enough with the qq, just learn to counter us, It's not that hard.
And unless you were around for the terror-reign of chromosomes MD, just stop. Please. We were God's, uprising slew us, now we re just mortals looking to the sky, feeling homesick. |
