Context is important here. It's never described as an exploit if a sniper finds the best high ground, despote the fact that their actions perfectly fit the definition you've shared here. I'd be willing to bet that there are more definitions than this one given in the source you have cited.
When something is called an exploit in the context of a video game, it means the resource being exploited is either an unintended consequence of game mechanics, or a malfunction in those mechanics. Eploiting the latter of those two is enough to be considered a cheat.
How do you go about correcting other peoples' posting with this terrible crap? Try using the preview button, friend. It's helped me avoid many a hilarious gaffe like your use of the word despot + an extra e. Eploiting? Is that like piloting, but on the internet? Just spend that extra thirty seconds is all I'm asking. We can make this forum a better place; one post at a time.
You know what would make this forum, and the internet in general, a better place?

That's bloody bullcrap. 9/10 'Pro' communities abuse the hell out of glitches and 'not intended' crap. Super Smash Bros Melee had Wave Dashing, shooters of old had Bunny Hopping and Strafe Sprinting, EVERY 2D fighter EVER evolved from the players screwing with the engine til it broke.
And even after all that, this is blatant cheating. After all, don't many games have a 'cheat' expressly designed to boost melee? And furthermore many players don't understand how the glitch works nor how to do it, and those that do have an unfair advantage over the rest of the playerbase. if this were something INCREDIBLY situational like 'LAVs invulnerable when 50 feet into redline' it wouldn't matter, but this allows people to use free suits to lock down 1/3, 2/5, or 3/3 objectives depending on map design, and that just isn't right.
In short, they are willfully taking the actions to gain an unfair advantage that is not a simple passive screwup on CCPs part like accidentally adding 10 damage a shot to ARs. They deserve to be punished somehow for this. Maybe deduct 1 million SP from them and all their alts, maybe a straight ban, who knows. |

I hate cheaters with a passion because you cannot do anything against them.
For instance, the invisibility glitch. Trying to kill one of those 100% invisible scumbags is near impossible. Even with a squad spamming grenades and mass drivers it was only enough one time to take the cloaked cheater out.
What happened next? Well he just came back, again, invisible, AGAIN.

So we should just sit here and NOT call attention to this? We should sit back and accept this? The fact that the game is , in your words, 'BROKEN', we shouldn't complain about its brokenness? This is CCPs fault as much as the Invisibility Glitch people are. There was a method of cheating the system that they were not aware of because they didn't flounder about for weeks trying to break the game in any way possible to garner an advantage. People NEED to see some kind of negative response when they stick their noses into this crap, or else there is no reason for the good players of the game to not turn towards the glitchcheat.
Also, is your keyboard as broken as your whining? You don't need every punctuation to be ellipses. |

Using the enter key in that manner was a decision. It accurately reflects the intentions of the author, and can be scrutinised as a result. Typos are not an author's decision, and they generally don't impede anybody's ability to understand the concepts being discussed. Unless, of course, tedious individuals such as yourself derail the conversation by picking at insignificant details. |

Not only that, but many well documented cheaters made it through the resets back when DICE was doing something.
Although, CCP should have a much easier job of it, given how miniscule the playerbase is compared to BF3. |

It is cheating as much a glitching into the NULL Cannons is cheating. There is no effective counter and the person abusing the glitch is assured at least a 1-1 KDR with minimal losses, maybe even 0 losses due to BPOs, due to utilizing an unintended animations failure. The only reason to defend it is because you depend on it, so please don't tell me the Imperfects have fallen to such low levels. |

DICE / EA don't console ban people, so all they have to do is create another account. One thing though, at least they ban people and remove them from the leaderboards when the game mattered. |

lol?
how about you get off some people's D for a minute, and take a look at what you wrote.
You compared aiming to exploiting a melee glitch, and called it the same thing.
If an exploit was used to win a match, that's cheating.
Example? Using PEDs to become stronger is exploiting to a certain extent. You're exploiting a drug that wasn't meant for sports use (EPO, HGH etc) to win.
Using the drug means nothing UNTIL you win something. Then it's classified as cheating. |

Keep going 1-8
Everybody knows how to do it. If you DON'T know how to do it here you go.
L3,R3,L3,R3. All you have to do is spam Sprint,Melee,Sprint,Melee. Over and over melee has a auto aim if you are close enough. There now you know we DO know how to do it. I am just not one to abuse glitches I report them.
Here is the proof, I reported this long ago. I did it because I did not want this day to come where people would abuse it cause I knew it was only a matter of time. So ya.. keep going 1-8. You are better at that. |

From a business stand point, products that aren't good are returned. Games aren't like that. Their product can be fixed through fixes. Fair enough.
Now there's people making our experience with the product an unsatisfactory one. People are clearly not happy with what's been going on recently. Normally we all jump down CCP's throat and demand a fix. To be honest we're still doing this, but the problem is while this person is making their product a bad experience for other players, said person is also cheating, which last I checked, was against rules. I could be wrong though... but I doubt.
How other gaming companies deal with cheating? Banning. lolEA / DICE are quick to drop the ban hammer on console gamers. When you provide video proof, that's it. Activision with lolCOD? They go as far as console ban people.
CCP with DUST? "Oh hey guys. We see it. We know it's there and we MIGHT be able to fix it next update."
That's it.
So in the mean time, instead of getting rid of individuals that are making their game unpleasant for others, while they take their merry time to fix it, we have to put up with it.
As a customer of this product, my HONEST opinion of CCP is that this way of doing business and not supporting your product will drive customers away even quicker than what you've already been doing.
At the end of the day we're all gaming nerds, but we're also customers. And having your customers gaming experience being tainted while you do nothing is sad.
This game is not marked as a "Beta" anymore.

3. Ranting is prohibited. A rant is a post that is often filled with angry and counterproductive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and is helpful in development of the game and community. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise and clear manner while avoiding going off on rambling tangents.
15. Posting about bugs outside of the Technical Support/Bugs channel is prohibited. Bugs and exploits should be reported through the proper channels. Non-exploitative bugs should be brought to the attention of CCP by filing a support ticket by e-mailing [email protected] or posting on the Technical Support/Bugs channel. More information on filing bug reports can be found here. Giving step-by-step explanations of how to utilize/replicate an exploit on the forums is against the rules and should only be done through filing a ticket. Discussions about unverified issues in game can cause unnecessary panic in the community. When there is an issue that the DUST 514 community needs to be aware of, it will be communicated via an official statement from CCP after thorough investigation.

CCP has been allowing cheaters in their game (EVE Online) for years. They say it's all part of the game and that it is "meta gaming". In reality they just can't keep up with the number of people they'd have to ban and it would ultimately hurt their player base statistics and their revenue. CCP is the little engine that could. They can't afford to wax a good portion of their paying player base.
I'd beg to differ. If I was in charge I'd be pissing a lot of people off GÇö mainly Chinese farmers whether actually asian or not. |

This game is not marked as a "Beta" anymore. Reported for, 3. *Tips Hat* Good Day Sir.
TL;DR
What this means is that CCP doesn't want negative info on their **** game.

lol
I've posted numerous threads that CAN be classified as ranting, some of them weren't even locked. This one? lol... this isn't a rant when I'm giving reason for banning people.
