Been waiting for some HMG love for a loooong time.. I am a little concerned about the overheat, as I use the Burst and can overheat that sucker no problem.. But over all, that's some pretty welcome news.

Buff? No, it is a nerf. Missing a target due to recoil is a skill issue; having to stop sending rounds down range because of overheating is a broken weapon issue. |

Less bullets means less heat build up. Unless you are trying to kill the entire red team in one clip, heat shouldn't be an issue. I believe this to a buff and a rather welcome one at that. |

Get the hell over it. Better accuracy on the HMG means my time to kill just dropped on those caldari sissies and their resistance to kinetic damage. In fact, this one's a "must test" add.
More accuracy to the HMG? Yes please! More reason to not run screaming into crowds squealing like a moron crying about killstreaks? Absolutely.
I was on the fence but the whining has me on the 1.4 heat nerf! YAY!

It is a win/win situation for me. If it turns to ****, I am right. If not, then good.

Brainstorming problems with the HMG...heat buildup and recoil are not of any issue. Why reinvent the wheel? If any changes are to made with the HMG it should be hit detection with the cone of fire. Why nerf heat buildup and buff something that is already fine? |

I like the change, although the basic burst variant will become practically useless due to overheat in 2 bursts. Same as the MLR as it has the same heat build up as basic, operation skill was the only thing making it useful. Six Kin should still be good with careful heat management.
As mentioned by a few other heavies I never really had an issue controlling recoil, or heat for that matter. Should be interesting to see how it works out. |

how to control recoil stop firing for 1 second when things start to get out of hand problem solved. If the only thing they are doing is giving recoil reduction then i am going to be very disappointed.
Mostly because as of right now the HMG is just a worse assault rifle in every way but ammo count |

I like this change. I actually had forgotten there was a heat mechanic until a couple days ago when I was trying to kill a fleeing tank with my HMG. The tank was a breath from being in flames and got stuck on terrain so I opened up on it. First time my boundless has EVER overheated. Maybe I'm doing it wrong though. I did get the tank. :-)
I think the heat thing was a semi-useful skill. The recoil reduction is going to be a semi-useful skill as well. Overall, depending on the rest of 1.4, we may be seeing a huge buff here. It seems to be a win/win situation for heavies. We are either buffed... or not nerfed. |

Having less recoil bonus for weapon that's meant for CQC doesn't seem like a buff to me. The gun starts to kick very bad at 1/4 clip, like @ 100 bullets left, so the bonus won't be significant. I can see the gun overheating frequently though, so in this case it's more like a nerf.... lol.

Right now we are able to take out blueprint LAVs with one stream of fire if they miss their first attempt of running us over. Now with the overheating variable, we are going to get ran over more often. No more "toe-to-toe with vehicles" as advertised. If it turns out to be a nerf, which it seems to be, I am going to join in on the rooftops with a FG. |

I currently have no problem with heat build up, but sometimes the muzzle rise robs me of kills outside of optimal range.
If the HMG's hit detection is fixed in 1.4 heat build up should not be an issue at all. Currently, you have to hold the trigger longer because the hit detection doesn't work quite right, causing heat to build up quite a bit faster.
I'm leaning toward calling this a buff. We will wait to see when 1.4 goes live.
spread is still the biggest issue. that and the fact that your bullets actually do not register until the center dot in the reticule cone is on target. |

As of now we can shoot 374 rounds out of the boundless before overheating...if X(1.15)=374, then without the overheating reduction we should be able to shoot 325 rounds. Makes sense? Maybe this won't be too much of a problem. But recoil? What recoil? |

but the recoil doesnt effect accuracy the spread does. even if your right on target the crazy spread will make most of your shots miss. in end you will never be able to take advantage of your high dps because many of those rounds are not actually hitting target.
recoil is perfectly managable in your optimal and effective ranges. at your max range you probably shouldnt be engaging enemies anyway unless you have a clear advantage.
recoil only becomes noticeable after 200+ rounds fired. but with this nerf, you will have over heated before the recoil becomes a problem....
please CCP reduce spread instead. i like my enemies dead. |

The recoil already is negligible. Honestly, if you cannot handle it, just go to the nearest walmart and buy yourself a can of M-A-N. I will probably see you there because I am on my way to stock up on some coolant. |

With how bad hit detection is on the HMG, won't you prefer that the accuracy cone was larger? So that more of your shots can hit the crazy fast strafing target...I mean pray and spray > skill in this game.
