If there would have been a time to announce shifting to PS4 it would have been during Sony's press conference this afternoon. It wasn't mentioned at all. So we may be able to surmise that that won't be a priority for 2014. |

Next summer-ish, I suspect. This PS3 run is their "Adapt or Die" model at work. I think they've learned a valuable lesson or 2 in how consoles and their communities operate.
Hope to see the Carbon built version on those PS4s. |

I'm pretty sure they said before that they weren't going to be on the ps4 when it came out, a while ago; but I could be mistaken. |

The thing you have to remember is how the console market actually works. It's a known fact that many players will flock to the PS4, but a great number of other players will not really ditch their old consoles for probably the next 2-3 years. Even the PS Vita didn't immediately replace the PSP until about a year or two later mainly because of the price and lack of games when it first launched while the PSP is still a favorite among almost every PS fan because it can easily be hacked (as in jail breaking like you would a smartphone) and has a nearly unlimited line up of games for the PSP.
Of course, the PS Vita eventually caught on with the PSP in terms of available games. The PS3 also took a long while to replace the PS2 mainly because of the hefty price tag it had back then. $500 is not something most people would drop on a whim for a console these days. Now, considering that the PS4 now has a strong line up of games already at this stage and has an affordable price tag of $399, I can see the PS4 taking less time to replace the PS3 than the PS3 did to the PS2. |

I'm going to say this again. Being on PS4 will not make dust 514 automatically a better game.
Since this games problems can not be solved with better graphics.

However, May 2014 will be one year from Dust's official launch on the PS/3. Anyone care to guess what CCP's "PS/3 exclusive" deal with Sony will have stipulated? |

I do think they should switch as soon as possible, Even you like it or not graphics is very important, and since we are in 2013 I should expect great graphic and good gameplay. |

Among the game's problems is lag, though, which could potentially be solved. |

Graphics may play an important role, but gameplay and balanced mechanics are far more important than. It's too easy nowadays to make a shiny-looking game, but making the gameplay and mechanics excellent and balanced is the hardest part of all. And if the gameplay sucks and the mechanics are broken as hell then no one will like it. |

I think Dust is in a good place by not being on PS4 at launch. This gives them extra time to learn the hardware, learn from launch titles' mistakes and successes, and work harder to put out a better product. Just keep in mind that Dust will never be superior to other established games out there, but as long as its a legit competitor despite being a free title, that's a goal worth achieving. People will get bored buying the newest military based arcade FPS and DLC packs in attempt to keep it fresh. But eventually they'll see this free Sci-Fi MMOFPS (That's more than a lobby shooter by then) and give it a try, finding something new and interesting enough to keep them coming back for more. |

A better console won't help if the battle servers are having problems. It's like upgrading from Dial Up to cable while Comcast is having problems with maintaining a steady service. |

The game has been in development for over 4 years and they cant even get all the suits vehicles and weapons in the game
3 months ago they only had concept art for vehicles most of the vehicles, drop suits and weapons . not only that they made an excuse as to why they couldn't give custom keyboard mapping
Lastly when people complain its not about graphics. Its game play and content and neither of those will get fixed by going to Playstation 4 or PC if anything it would just slow down the process even more |

Client-side, sure, CCP already admitted this. Network latency issues, absolutely.
But I haven't seen any indications that the battle servers themselves can't cope.

I'm not sure how they work exactly. I only referenced the battle servers as an example. My point is that it won't matter if the console is better than the old one if there are any problem with the connection in general. In the case of Dust and it's occasional disconnects and glitched SP earning (negative SP anyone?) and stuff like that, who is to say these problems won't carry over to the PS4 when the time comes? This is why it's important for CCP to stabilize everything first before porting over to the new console. |

Stop the presses, Comcast stopped having problems?!
I didn't hear the cheering, or see it on the front page of the news. We all know if anything would make front page news, Comcast not having problems would be it. |
