Gallente logis can have up to 900 armor with the update.
Will they be slow? Absolutely. Will they still have a small body and be faster than a heavy with much more high slots and equipment? Yes, sadly. |

Don't forget that they can haul Triage Nanohives that their racial helps them fit. 70 hp/s, stackable to 140hp/s. 5 hp/s innate repair from Logi role bonus. |

McFurious wrote:Wait, are they changing the explosive bonus to armor as well? Last I heard it was 130% and if it's still going to be that high, armor is still gonna suck.
its still gonna suck.
and why do ppl seem to forget that nothing stoppin these shield based suits from slappin on plates as well? armor will continue to suck till extenders and plates start raising their respective HP by a % and not a hard number, that way a shield suit will get more HP from using shield extenders than an armor suit and an armor suit will get more HP from using plates than a shield suit would.
Alo role bonuses, amarr and more importantly gallente NEED better role bonuses to armor to make armor tanking viable. Reduced movement penalty bonus or built in armor reps
to balance that armor based suits would then need their shield recharge delay increased cuz currently every suit regens shields at the same time |

no, it's defensive since you need a significantly higher amount of time to regen it. and really, stacking damage mods does make sense from a defensive standpoint. What's the fastest way to break down the enemy's resolve at your gate? A nice, big, pile o' bodies you created from relative safety using cover from an entrenched position, and you have the health to withstand a coordinated push. |

Not necessarily. Every suit will be affected positively by this buff not just the Gallente.
Here is a number crunched Assault ck.0 and a Assault gk.0 done with all skills level 5.
Assault ck.0
2x Complex Shield extenders 2x Complex Light damage modifiers 2x Enhanced Armor plates 1x Complex Armor repairer
CPU- 309/394 PG- 63/79 Shield- 408 Armor- 392 EHP- 800 Shield Recharge Rate- 31.25 Shield Delay- 5 Shield Depleted Delay- 8 Armor Repair Rate- 6.25 Movement- 4.72 Sprint- 6.94
Assault gk.0
1x Complex Shield extender 2x Complex Light damage modifiers 3x Enhanced Armor plates 1x Complex Armor repairer
CPU- 275/394 PG- 58/79 Shield- 223 Armor- 625 EHP- 848 Shield Recharge Rate- 25 Shield Delay- 7 Shield Depleted Delay- 10 Armor Repair Rate- 6.25 Movement- 4.64 Sprint- 6.82
Conclusion, the GK.0 has 48 more HP but less CPU/PG restrictions. The speed difference between both these suits is 1.7%, while each suit is being penalized 5.6% and 7.8% respectively. The GK.0 has a way slower over all repair in HP, especially with the bulk of his HP being in armor. Also keep in mind the majority of weapons that are to come will be anti armor and all burst damage weapons are anti armor, therefore shields are more resistant to damage than armor thus their overall HP is higher than what you can see numerically.
1.4 is Dropsuit balance, and it is a big patch so I assume that CCP has done some dropsuit side tweaking, that we haven't been shown yet, to balance what I have stated above. |

All we have now is better plates with a decrease in movement penalties. A Caldari or mimitar assault will benefit from this buffs too.
This does nothing to differentiate the types of dropsuits.
I'd been wondering about this. Perhaps they still have a bunch of suit spec-related stuff to announce that will make armor plates more useful to Amarr/Gallente or whatever. As it stands, Minmatar Logis and Cal Logis have more low slots than Amarr Assaults... so it's not like there's a compelling advantage to the so-called "armor-tanking races". Amarr Logistics is still king. |

I'm caldari assault and i have not used armor plates since Uprising. Most players are already dual tanking, and we will see even more after armor plates buff.I am pretty happy with this since a lot of players are moving to anti armor wepons(mass drivers, smg, locus grenades,,,).I'm gonna stick to pure shield tanking until 1.5 shield nerf. |

It might get nerfed. But I am also a Caldari Logistics and Amarr Logistics, so I wouldn't want my Caldari Logi to be less effective as I don't have prototype. |

An armor-tanked scout (i.e., a scout at its very slowest) should be able to gain 40 meters on a speed-tanked Sentinel with one sprint, if they start sprinting at the same time. And that's in just the first 12.5 seconds while the heavy is sprinting--the scout gets to keep going for another 7.5 seconds at more than twice the heavy's speed.

U know right, slow walking and slower regen but higher hp is defensivelol, the lack of speed alone forces it to be effective defensively |

thats only thinking of HP stat by itself when it is much more than that
Armor users - Allows damage mods without losing defensive stats, allowing users to power through an enemys offense while putting out much more damage than they can
Shield users - Allows stamina and sprint speed modules allowing the user to run farther faster, as well as allowing profile dampeners and scan radius amplifiers
the reason you think speed is defense is probably because you like to be in the open or around enemies and strafe from left to right
while i prefer the cover strategy which doesnt rely on speed only how much damage you can do and take |

I use armor and damage mods because I'm the type to go behind 4 enemies, chuck a nade, then kill'em all. The damage mods is really really useful for these situations. |

This post should have ended the thread. Give heavies a new weapon "power fist" it would do to vehicles what the nova knife does to infantry. |
