Does anyone else feel like the mass driver is suddenly too powerful? I feel very cheap for using it now that it feels too strong.
How I lament that nobody I kill will know that I have invested a lot into the weapon and am not just using it to spam.
Does anyone else feel this way?
yea i was locked in with the nerfed version. ppl were like wow mass driver? before they got fixed. idc anymore.. in game community is toxic anyway if your not some zerg/sheep going negative with a broken AR while complaining the whole time about vehicles.

we don't really need the aim knock that bad. the problem is any nerf to the mass driver won't appease the vocal children. even if they removed aim knock and reduced the splash by 1m, noobs will join the forums and btch about MD because they never saw the more powerful version, more noobs will see that whine and jump on, then a mob forms and demands it nerfed again.
this goes for any weapon, we have weekend warriors//noobs in paper suits with no prior dust experience directing the flow of the game. so CCP will not just nerf it lightly, they see it as they're one chance in 6 months at a nerf so they hit it as hard as they can hoping the noobs will shut up their whines. they dont stop crying tho, their witch hunt just moves on to the next cry of the month. |

I agree that CCP should not listen to bad players for game balance issues. That being said removing the aim knock and decreasing the max radius for the freedom to 4.5 meters and the max radius on the assault MD to 6.5 meters would balance out this weapon nicely......that or instead of reducing splash dmg reducing the clip size by 2 rounds would also balance this weapon while maintaining its effective niche. |

You sound like a douche, get a grip, this game doesn't even revolve around KDR. Don't tell someone to not talk smack and then proceed to discharge verbal vomit
Oh gosh another one of these.....KDR does matter kid. I have seen many games where my team held all objectives almost the entire game but we lost because i was the only person doing any killing....So as a result we were winning the MCC dmg battle but we lost the game because they cloned out my team. Yea KDR matters in every FPS and if you dont understand or believe this then your a scrub and you are just looking for an excuse to justify your bad game. Kid? Shut your mouth, 1999. Yeah ok all objectives held and you still lost? Sound viable. KDR means nothing in objective based games you are talking out ur back end boy. Yeah ensuring ur team doesn't clone out is Important but your acting as if its the be all and end all of the game. And your little personal attack at the end, a scrub, grow up you immature child. My point was as it still is, anyone has the right to comment on the game regardless of KDR. Stop thinking your god and grow up. It's a game I need no excuse for not playing aswell as you, all that indicates is you play more and intern have less to do with the REAL world. Stop giving people a hard time and go outside, meet real people, give them your crap. You are just so hilarious. Yes KDR does not matter in an objective based game..... . Its ret@rded thoughts like these and lead people to think they are somehow good. Of course there are other things to do but in a First Person Shooter....the primary goal is the shooting part.....if you cant understand this then there is no point in discussing this any further. A good shooter in a FPS game will be able to both maintain/capture an objective and stay alive while doing it. Obviously this is only referring to KDR of people who are actually on the battlefield....KDR of redline snipers generally means nothing (besides they usually have fewer than 10 kills anyway). I am sorry to burst your bubble.....KDR is important and the most important indicator of skill is what KDR you can maintain while being in the thick of things. Having a high KDR because you hide in the MCC as a squad leader and only use OBS to get your kills obviously has no meaning.
Again you miss the point u dumbass! If you actually read my post you could have the potential to fathom what is being said. Instead you grab hold of any possible ground you can in a hope to prove some point which has nothing to do with my original post. I'm fine with the splash nerf and aim knock (unless it's a direct hit) but 2 round clip size... Come on now.
Reducing explosive bonus to armor to 115% or 120% would help. The splash damage should also be reduced the further away the target is from the center of the blast.
@ OP: Been using the MD since closed beta when it had a 4 round clip and was a lot weaker. I prefer to use it at medium and long ranges but it's nice to have it for close range fights as well. One problem is all these new MD players want to do is toss fluxes and spam spam spam at close range. This is a cheap way to use the weapon IMO. I rarely see anyone with a MD trying to take long range shots at anyone. Now we have a lot of people complaining and calling for nerfs.
Another problem is CCP can't seem to get the aiming fixed like they had it in Chromosome. I think that's a reason people are using area of effect weapons a lot more. Whereas in Chromosome the aiming was great and hardly anyone used the MD even when it was OP. If they can fix the aiming, then I'm betting people will switch to other weapons. That should be the #1 priority before they "fix" before anything else. |

Just quickly....i said a 2 round clip size reduction...not a total clip size of 2 that would be stupid. So it would go from 6 and 8 (reg and assault) to 4 and 6. |

You gotta read the entire post now cosgar. It was one of the 2 options for balancing the current MD. The weapon knock needs to be removed and then either the splash radius needs to be reduced to lvls that I mentioned above or instead of a splash radis reduction it gets a reduction in its clip size. Both solutions woudl balance out the weapon....and no there would be no dmg buff in either option. |

Does anyone else feel like the mass driver is suddenly too powerful? I feel very cheap for using it now that it feels too strong.
How I lament that nobody I kill will know that I have invested a lot into the weapon and am not just using it to spam.
Does anyone else feel this way? I know the feels bro...I have used my Freedom for 9 months and nobody gave me a second look, but now that it is FOTM I feel like crap. BTW, join our chat channel, Massholes, we'd love to have ya! |

Does anyone else feel this way? live with your choice fotm chump. just plain bad luck that you chose a weapon that no one knew was going to become op. Wait until 1.4 and lasers become the new FotM. It's going to happen. |

All of your arguments are void when you suck with the very weapons you claim are OP (AR/ASCR). I dont understand how you can even come on here and act like you are good.....assuming you have a 1.5 KDR that sucks in a normal FPS....and for Dust you arent even decent unless you have a 3.0 KDR. Perhaps you should work on your game instead of your smack talk because your game has not caught up with your mouth.

Yeah I kind of hate how too many people use it to be fun anymore. I'm kinda with the OP. I will stick by my mass driver through thick and thin but damn it this place is too crowded. |

How come a suppressing weapon assaulted me in the open field today and killed me I ask ( op)?...oh yea. When the mass drivers are overpowering ar's out on open ground there's a problem. p.s. Seems as if you know a little something about op weapons yourself..( Flaylock Steve )... hmm makes me wonder what your using now. =p
you describe a fight between two different weapon types like it's a game of rock paper scissors..."my ar should win" that's probably what you kept saying to yourself as you were aiming down site with each incoming shell landing between your legs. |

I would argue it is as powerful as it should be ATM, and that is what's causing everyone to cry that it's OP (because its on the same level as AR's).
Back in the day, I would watch my grenades turn into sparkles on enemy shields. I'd watch 1/6...1/3/...1/2 of my total damage potential just wisp away...now this weapon works properly. I no longer feel like I have a niche weapon role...that's all. Now everyone is calling "noob tube" and "spammer" just like they call "hail AR 514" and "bullet hose". |

The OP implies that a weapon that was working off a broken mechanic was fine. Once the broken mechanic was fixed all of a sudden it's too OP.
I'd like to see an AR start getting jams and having half it's bullets just disappear in thin air and someone call this balanced. Actually I dont see an issue with your initial statement. A weapon was buffed in radius and rounds per clip but was balanced because explosive mechanics were bad and some would not register. Now CCP finally fixed the explosive detection and the buff that was given the MD has made it crazy good and a lolsy weapon to use. So as such CCP should change something about the MD to balance it out. It needs to either have the radius reduced or the clip size reduced (total ammo doesnt need to be reduced just reduce slip size down by 2 rounds).
When half to 2/3rds of your rounds just randomly disappear it is hardly a balancing thing for any weapon. Somehow no one ever used that 'balanced' weapon back then. Right now I still see all the tryhards use AR, not the MD. That's how I know MD is still balanced. Yes, now it's better and admitedly it's pretty easy to use but it hardly makes the weapon OP. AR is very easy to use too, yet any criticism toward AR is forbidden. |
