It's possible that when someone dies holding the nanite injector, the body disintegrates but the injector model doesn't. If that's the case, you're just seeing where folks died trying to revive someone.

In EVE the starmap can be used to plan routes between planets, check sov, and other functions. My guess, is the functions are missing because they had to rebuild the map for Dust, as it's built in Unreal rather than Carbon.
