Why did you go into a heavy suit with a laser weapon? heavy suits are only required for heavy machine guns and forge guns. With the movement penalty it is not a great idea to use them unless you want to use one of those guns.

A cloak that requires a skill would be interesting. Especially if the dropship was to be used primarily for transport. Firing the weapons in the dropship should break cloak at least for a few seconds.
