Last night I AFKed in a losing match I was dumped into. 140,000 ISK I fought in another half-finished losing effort with double digit Ks, single digit D's and only got 8,000. No rhyme. No reason.

Listen to your footsteps when you walk or sprint. Same speed. You'll also hear about 4 steps for what you would see as a single stride. Sounds like shuffled elderly sprinting.
