REs and Proxies fall under Explosives on the Skill Tree, not Equipment. You should be able to stack your Shield or Armor in all of your "main" slots with the support Modules being in the "lesser" slots. Biotics and Damage mods ruin the ability to ...

REs and Proxies should be moved to the Grenade slot. Reppers, Rechargers, Energizers should be opposite of their counterpart. Should there be Mid Slots for Biotics and Weapon Mods? Beef.
