No. The weapon profile is comparable to Massdriver. As it is a sidearm, which, by the way shoots faster than it's bigger brother it's in a good place now. It still has splash damage/radius enough.

People are saying assault versions are really noobtube and skill-less weapon but they really shine on certain situations and maps. The ROF on them is very nice and it will keep enemies confused and you WILL get kills with it.
