It has low damage, so I don't see why not restore it's splash radius.
A finisher pistol, doesn't take much skill to use but can't really kill targets on it's own reliably.

The only weapon in this game a Gallente weapon of the same class does better than Minmitar.
And sadly they both completely suck.
Flaylock with low damage, decent splash sounds good to me. |

Until you realize you could waste your entire ammo capacity and still not kill a tanked suit with Splash Damage.
Much faster than what exactly? I'm pretty sure the other pistol's projectile speed is instantaneous.

Blast Radius needs a change...
OR CCP would have to redo their Hit detection Mechanics and Server/client Updating Optimizing for 3 months...
So Just make the blast radius bigger.... Can hit sprinting targets directly under them and it won't register at times because of core mechanics in DUST being so sub-par.
If your gonna make these gun concepts... Hammer out the core mechanics around it.... Before releasing it. |

I would not say the ION pistol is really better...but you are right both weapons are highly underperforming |

Side note... DIrect Damage Decrease with the flaylock makes no sense.
If I Shoot the ground beneath someones feet, I DO More damage then if I Shot that explosive round off their head?
At some point these nerf or Buff changes done in DUST 514, need to have some common sense Oversight. |

Bigger radius would eventually give it a bigger radius than the Plasma Cannon.
Yes, the Flaylock is pathetic, but if you buff its radius, you're going to have to do the same to the Plasma Cannon and YOU KNOW how CCP hates that thing. Even more so than the Flaylock Pistol. |

No. The weapon profile is comparable to Massdriver. As it is a sidearm, which, by the way shoots faster than it's bigger brother it's in a good place now. It still has splash damage/radius enough.

Now do the same with SCPs and BPs, and them tell me how fine the weapon is.

No wai. I hate that weapon with a passion. As a user and a recipient. Tbh, I might have been traumatized by it so I may not be one to say what to do with it.

I wonder sometimes if people actually use the weapons they talk about or just pretend they do, I'm inclined to believe the later.
From someone who uses the flaylock regularly: The flaylock was hit too hard, CCP's habit in dealing with gear is either to buff it to extremes (tanks), nerf an over powerd gear slightly (scrambler weapons), or hit it with multiple nerfs at the same time. (AR, Flaylock, Sniper, missiles).
As listed the flaylock is a case of the last, let's look at it's nerfs then:
Direct damage: I'm sure we can all agree this was unnecessary.
Splash damage: Needed, perhaps a bit harsh due to a 3 round clip.
Splash radius: An explosive weapon it takes a hit to it's radius size at ground level and on uneven areas, the MD, Plasma cannon, and missiles also suffer this, (oddly enough granades don't seem to) get a flaylock up high and you can hill less tanked suits with it, so it's radius size is enough in theory, not so much in practice.
The main problem with the flaylock of old is that it was deployed in a time when explosive weapons were the only weapons with regularly applied hit detection, this gave it the illusion of being 'Massively OP' due to it's power as a contender to the scrambler pistol, let's be honest: if the flaylock was deployed just a month ago would so many dislike the weapon?
All weapons should be able to kill on their own, period, the argument 'it's a sidearm so it's only ment to finish' is ignorant, use any other sidearm (ion doesn't count, it's flaylock bad) and tell me you NEED to use a main weapon to put someone down:
Scrabler pistol.
SMG
Magsec SMG.
Bolt pistol.
Nova knives.
Out of all of those weapons which one would you say NEEDs a primary to do it's job, the answer is none.
I'm not saying the flaylock wasn't without balancing problems, but it got hit FAR harder then it deserves, minmatar gear in general seems to get the nerf/buff bat often....

The splash should have never been touched. The only issue with the flaylock before was its ridiculous ROF. Which is funny because thats the one thing CCP didnt touch. #LolCCPbalance&design
Yeah, i run an Amarr logi with a mass driver.. what are YOU going to do about it?
