I'm guessing it was a glitch because, for right now: AV>Skilled Vehicle drivers. Seriously, EZ mode swarms and everything, while we can't even get the full racial line of tanks.

Maybe call for an attack on the ship from our space bound allies. But orbitals are space to surface. We also won't be able to take control of them, no doubt. Besides, combat on POS would come first.
