True, logi dropships weren't really worth the ISK WP wise and it was cheaper and just as effective to use a militia or standard with a CRU. But if I would get WP from team spawns off of my CRU, I'd make a tank fitting for having a frontline armor ...

+1 to you. Yes we need some form of reward in war points for having team mates spawn inside our vehicles. If we got rewarded for it more people would use cru's to their tactical advantage as a safer less vulnerable spawn point that doesn't run out...

Actually this ammo for vehicles may require a buff to supply depots in some form. There will definitely need to be some changes with them in 1.7. I guess we'll have to wait and see what changes would work best after it comes out.
