Upgrading the sharpshooter skill is worth it regardless of what you run, it gives you the added 1-2 shots on target doing more damage before they can close in. Extended range shotgun is lethal if you know how to move.

Think the big difference is shield recharge rate. Adding that mod really ups the survival of a scout compaired to an assault. I think the suits and some of the sub skills push them better. Also the Dragonfly is a "special" suit so I'd expect it to...
