I just looked through all the stats. Not only does the mlt variant have a smaller clip and a 2 second longer reload, but it also has a damage value of 34 compared to 38 Normally mlt variants are supposed to do the same damage with slightly slowe...

Originally grenades were 400/500/600 with 3 carried. Being able to spam standard grenades was annoying so they brought it down to 2 and increased the nanite cost per resupply. They also reduced damage at std/adv to make grenades something you use...
