Its a very viable build. Some SMG scouts run double SMG's, others combine it with Nova Knives or SHotguns. Scouts can strafe like theres no tomorow so a a guy who skills into SMG use, range, and damage mods cam create a very damaging short range...

THE BEGINNiNG OF THE SECOND PART IS GREAT! Edit- Again the action feels a little stiff but the narration of the first and second paragraphs is really really good. Also I feel you really captured a 40k visceral form of violence here.
