If I see that my team is losing (as in we're at less than ahlf Armor on our MCC, and the Reds still haven't lost their Shields yet), I'll switch over to Sniper and start picking off as many people as I can. Usually I've found that even when losing the match, the clone count is still about the same. So I'll do my best to still try and bring a win out of the situation by Cloning Out the opposing team.
Sometimes you've been beaten so hard that you're going to lose even if you cap all the objectives, so the only way to pull victory out of the jaws of defeat is to Clone Out the enemy.
Now if we've been redlined early on, oh hell no, I'm in my Shotty-Scout cappin' letters as much as I can. But I know when to change tactics and if the Reds can't adapt, that's their problem. |

It's a rare match that I bring out my Sniper Rifle, mostly because I suck with it. |

you are just in the wrong timezone Harkon :)
But seriously :
I got in this situation yesterday, after capping a few points the other blues were not advancing so our squad could not hold them and we where pushed back. After getting killed several times trying to get back we started sniping just to save gear. This got even worse in a battle where the reds had position on the spawning points and sniped those areas. |

There is just no getting through to you idiots. "Ohh sniping from the red line when losing help! We are depleting their clones and ****." No you arent helping, you are making our team lose faster.
In a game where this happened, i blew up,both of the tanks that were holding my team down. Then i flew to the furtheet point, capped it and then threw down a drop uplink. Can you guess how many allies spawned on my uplink at that time? Two, and they were both scout snipers who ran for the hill, and left me to defend the point on my own. Needless to say, i got zergged.
That is what i get for trying to help my team. So after that, i just reverted to team killing instead. |

I think the whole red zone/red line is an issue at the moment. I realise teams need a "safe area" to retreat when they have no other spawn point then their MCC (to prevent MCC camping), but currently it's not really working.
-The "red zone" is abused when the game is not yet lost by people (mostly snipers) actively playing from an area that grants them extra protection.
-The "red zone" turns the game into a useless shoot out when a team is "red zoned" instead of being used to regroup and retake objectives.
I've previously made a suggestion in the feedback forums to consider the "red zone" (and MCC) to be "out of game" (so not earning SP/ISK/WP while in the red zone), except when your team is "red zoned". This caused some resistance to say the least.
People claimed that:
-"Red zone" sniping (at any time during the game) is a legitimate tactic -A "red zoned" team should not be punished for loosing (beyond actually loosing)
I don't agree, but that's a long discussion...
In short though, I feel that when a team is being destroyed to the point where they are "red zoned", they should either make a comeback, or the game should end in some way. 10 minute pointless shoot outs are not good game play in my opinion.

I agree, a full team of snipers aint gonna bring a game back, people get pushed back once and they simply give up then. It is only the red line that causes players to do this, can't think of another game where if one team is losing they all go "hey, better get a sniper!"
When the big maps come the red line may not even exist anymore |

I think its comms that are a problem.
what you actually need is to know that the whole team needs to make a play for X and tell snipers to kill anything that moves near X so they are providing cover for anyone else moving in, 2-3 snipers, the rest attacking as a co-ordinated whole.. but until comms are easier to use and understand it wont happen. until you can get more than one squad together and jump in on mass it wont happen.

"Us halfway-competent snipers can lockdown objectives and make groundtroops question showing themselves in entire areas of the battlefield"
flat out bull.
you're useless like the rest of em.
only seen 1 Recon player who actually did his job: fed info to the entire team for the entire match. verbally.
all you micless "snipers" who think you're "locking things down" are clueless.
the only thing you're locking down is a loss for your team.

less people around objectives means less firepower to defend/attack and there is plenty of cover around objectives too, thus snipers are actually useless in 99% of the time.
its also no surprise that some impswarm dudes are defending themself for their terrible gameplay, they entire corp is a collection of CoD kids. only handful of IMPs are actually good. |
