They should add an aurum item that allows to view the content of the boxes prior to them being opened. Make it cost the same as the market agent. As it stands, I don't want to buy keys on the slim chance that I may get something I can/want to use.

Personally I think running Proto in Pubs is bad form as it hurts new player retention. That said, if the other team is full of proto running stompers then I run proto. Proto is FW is fine and in PC it is expected/necessary.
