Personally, I like it how it is now. There isn't really anything wrong with it. When used correctly, it absolutely melts everything. I like how it rewards accuracy. Most of it's drawbacks are heavily outweighed by it's benefits.

I don't use Precision Enhancers. On my Assault AK.0 I use 1 Shield Extender and 2 Light Damage Mods. It's worked well for me so far, and I see no need to use a Precision Enhancer.
