Not true. It varies depending on the circumstances.
A 1.00 KDR is the standard for an average player IMO. Definitely not bad. Especially in PC, where very good players frequently go KDR negative.
If you're talking about your average pub, then yeah, a 1.00 KDR isn't that great. But then again, pubs don't matter either.

we get our KD from pubs, because PC is dead now-a-days...hence why a 1 KD is horrible. Lifetime doesn't matter, we all went 0/10 for the first few weeks of our dust carrer

Monthly gives you an overall grasp...someone might be trying out a logi for one week, or learning to fly ADS

I don't think K/D matters that much. What matters more is doing your job properly.
I do take pride in getting a good K/D - as I'm sure everyone does - and going K/D positive in PC is a nice feeling, but it all comes second to doing your job properly. My K/D means absolutely nothing if I'm not doing my job properly.
I think K/D is more like an afterthought, or a secondary concern. It's fine to take pride in getting a high K/D or having a high kill game, but one should only take pride if they've done their job properly.
In all those quotes, I knew that I had done my job properly, and that's why I was able to take pride - or embarrassment - in my K/D.
I think that just about sums it up...
