There is no Imperial Plasma Cannon, I think you are thinking of the Imperial Scrambler Rifle. Also, it appears that normal scrambler rifles will be the semi-auto/charge shot, while assault are the full auto variant.

I like the new thing that pops up when you are killed, but have zero idea why they have a standard pistol (with a shape unlike anything in the game, resembling modern day tech) as the icon next to the number of kills. It just seems off.
