Above any fitting or SP spent, situational awareness is the best weapon anyone has. Learn to keep an eye on your tacnet while you're running n gunning. Minimaps are easily the most overpowered tool in every FPS.

Proficiency skills will make the tiers matter a little less. You could still wreck with a lower tier weapon that has a high proficiency skill level if you can't fit a higher tier weapon on that suit.
