Yes this being heavily abused. You can pretty much get infinite OB with reping an lav and large amounts of sp/isk.

I've destroyed a couple ships while trying to do map overview, happens with lavs too, you will ship/lav with just random start moving across the map like the wind is taking you, best to stay out of vehicles when looking at map =)
