I stopped buying AUR roughly 3 months ago. It wasn't really planned, i just stopped.
Still have passive & active boosters, But won't be buying more AUR. If CCP can dig their way out of the hole they've dug for themselves and resurrect DUST's future then maybe. |

What's cool is that those that don't have the money to spend can still participate and provide content as well. At $20 per month it's costing me about $0.50 per hour or less. Damn cheap entertainment. You seem to think the game is going to fail but you're still here participating and theoretically playing the game and receiving enjoyment. If you have money maybe its time to chip in a few bucks so it doesn't fail? If anything you can help put food on the table of the lowly artists and coders.
I'm actually not sure that it's going to fail really, when I'm grinding my character through a few battles I'm like "What's the point?, I'm gonna be doing the same thing over and over again." So I've been taking longer and longer brakes, I have high hopes for Dust 514 but I really doubt that CCP is going to be able to save the game in it's current state. 60% of the time I think this game is going to fail , the other 40% of the time when I'm calm and enjoying this game I think that Dust 514 is going to succeed and is gonna have a great future. |

Companies generally don't invest years, and millions of dollars, developing a product, only to let it fail after just a couple months. Not without a fight, at least.
That's just bad business.
Unless something really drastic happens, like CCP declaring bancrupcy, I'm sure this game will be around for quite a while.
Most of the serious money's already been spent in the initial development, and I'm sure the cost to maintain it and keep the servers up and running is minimal, by comparison.
As long as there are enough players to fill the lobbies, and at least some real $ trickling in, I am confident that DUST will survive.
CCP needs to try and get as much return on their investment as possible, after all. |

I actually respect CCP's micro-transaction model for this game. It isn't straight-up pay-to-win, even if you can gain access to higher tier equipment sooner than normal. I see that more as a trial run before investing more SP into an item.
I haven't actually purchased the higher grade weapons/suits/tanks with AUR, though, I put every AUR into boosters and militia BPO's. If they add a Type-I Gal Assault BPO in the vein of the Raven Caldari one, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat! |

The way they seem to first make very (un)popular items on sale, like the various direct hit nades, and then suddenly changing them into 1/10 of its preceived value is just bad karma. (They reduced the number from 2 or 3 down to 1, they upped the fitting cost from 9/2 and 18/3 up to 48/6 - making them totally useless the way I used them as a cheaper to fit nade for a scout or equipment heavy Logi fitting. )
The other thing is the totally BS useless packages they sell. Yes the elite Pack gave me a nice red BPO LAV, some AUR and some Boosters, but all the other BPOs are next to useless IMO. Why make a BPO AR with the name Dren AR when its the exact same gun as an Exile AR? Given the price and the names of the packages, (Starter, Veteran and Elite, or something in that direction, I can't remember) - If they atleast had given the stats for the stuff.
I honestly believed that the Dren AR would be better than the Exile, it was in a bigger pack with a bigger price tag named "elite", what "elite" would ever use a basic gun? Its perhaps not a direct lie, I can probably not "catch" them on any legal matter, but they have lost my faith, I now only see them as a bunch of greedy amataurs that in most cases have no idea what they're doing. I will not support this game anymore. Not without the respects and a buy back option for AUR stuff when CCP nerf stuff into uselessness.
Simply put, CCP lacks any sence of normal common decency and they violate the practice of thousandds of years of trade.
Dealing with proffesional clients instead of gamers in this manner would have put them out of business a long time ago.
No more AUR for me untill they go back on some of their polecies.
This I spent a lot of money on Dust not anymore. I don't trust them anymore they tweak to much for the worse. Without a respec option not coming back or spending money until that policy is changed. I will save my hobby money for other games like GTA V.

Just because the servers are running, that doesn't mean that the game is something new people will want to invest the necessary time in to be competitive. If we end up in a situation where there is a small cluster of High SP players in dominant positions and there is a dropping player count, the game will be pretty much done in my eyes.
I am not going to invest months getting teams ready to only have the top 200 stomp us out every time we try and get something going. PC is the core feature of the game right now, aside from FW, the only thing that differentiates it from other FPS games. Right now that end game is absolutely over, so you can either try to join the big dog alliance, or stay indie and not get involved in PC.
Having no viable end game other than lobby shooter 514 sucks. Without enough people to play, the matchmaker will struggle to produce quality matchups, and the level of pub play will continue to degrade. As it is now when I put a squad together, we pub stomp, when I go solo, the team I am on gets rolled, no matter what I do. If this is the long term outlook for Dust, no matter if the servers are still running or not the game will be effectively dead, as the core user base pulls further away from the new blood, who never stick around long enough to get to the competitive level.
Next, with that dwindling user base, there is a much smaller window of monetization, which will lead CCP to do something foolhardy, which is well within their reach, as shown by previous efforts. |

I stopped buying aurum for multiple reasons.
1. Free giveaways 2. More free giveaways by farming "recruits" 3. Only consumable easy to lose by militia nade items and boosters 4. No real need for boosters anymore 5. already got a stockpile of BPO
The only thing i can think of that would actually make me buy some more, would be customizable merc quarters. Special flags or banners, color schemes , a bigger monitor .. i dunno. stuff
And maybe an aur option to have a permenant logo on your suits |

I want to get a Merc Pack, but not with the same old "Vanilla" variants. Why not have 4 or 5 different sets to pick from? It's not as if there's not enough space on the shelf. And lack of ADV BPOs would be my reasoning for not using my Aurum on anything but P2W Boosters. |

CCP, like any corporation, keeps their internal affairs protected but from the rumors floating around it sounds like they weren't happy with at least some of the things that happened when developing DUST. It sounds like there has been a reorganization of sorts. Crap happens and software is hard. Sometimes people are put in the wrong positions. Whatever has happened I get the feeling that things are back on track. CCP also likes to dream big and isn't afraid to deal with failure. I respect them for that despite being disappointed sometimes.
I play less because it's the same old content over and over again. I'd like to see the full racial options for equipment and customization. I'd like to see PvE. I'd really like to see long running battles to use the full terrain maps instead of just short matches. Even though I play less DUST it still gets the majority of my attention but, as always, there are games on the horizon that may change that.

Well I hope whatever happened in CCP is good, PvE is definitely needed and wanted. What also needs to happen is for us to become a very useful tool to EVE players, Boarding Parties, Defending ships from boarding parties, scouting parties to clear out rogue drones so EVE players can do stuff with the planet and much much more. Basically being able to get out in the EVE universe would really stop this from being another lobby shooter. And maybe then I'll buy some AURUM . |

I agree with much that has already been said.
I also feel like their design of the aurum tree is finite, I have skilled up everything and no longer "need things faster"
I would have no problems spending more money but I have plenty of boosters from all the packs I already bought and have no use for aurum.
I would think that CCP really needs to re asses their long term goals for making, money from hi leveled characters because all this low end BPO stuff is irrelevant and no new items to purchase. |

LOL, you do realize that this is one of the main things that separates Dust from other run of the mill lobby shooters right? Skills and Fitting are really the only "real" connections to Eve that aren't totally RP.

yea it's pretty stupid to have in a game based on having to buy everything and then provide us with absolutely no form a friendly fire whatsoever unless we join the travesty of what PC currently is, but that points moot since i doubt a blueberry is going to steal his team's vehicle in PC.
if they would just make it so the blueberries actually had to hack the vehicle before stealing it would go a very long way in helping the problem some |

I bought the elite pack for my main and my alt because I get tons of use out of the Dren Logi suit and get decent WP from running a Dren with full BPO gear. This allows me to make insane amounts of ISK and have more patience with what I'm dumping SP into (pretty much only core skills for now).
Having that setup has made both purchases absolutely worth it, as I am able to contribute to the team with more than just the starter assault fits and I feel as though I have more options available to me while I make the tediously slow climb up to prototype level suits and gear.
And what will happen when I do have the top end fits and I have my coveted 4 equipment slots and I'm logi-ing peoples socks off all day long? I still have those BPOs to help me "fund raise" when my wallet is a little light and I can do it with dignity of having my 3 Dren logi equipment slots. |

I've stopped buying aurum mainly because I feel that it does not provide the value that I want in this game. Even when I was running Omega passive and active boosters, I still felt like I was being held back from progressing at the rate I felt was acceptable. It felt like grinding then and now that my omegas are gone, the grinding is even more of a chore. To put it shortly, I suppose the never ending grind is demoralizing and i'm simply burned out.
I don't think buying boosters is worth it anymore. I've played this game for free for over a year and only in the past 3 months have I bought aurum (90$). To me, it feels like this:
>play for free and grind for eternity (3-6 months depending how special you want to get) to specialize into a single role. >Buy aurum every month and grind for 2-4 months in order to specialize into a single role.
This is not a significant reward for buying aurum.

Basically what i'm trying to say is, from my point of view, I wish that CCP will treat purchasers of AURUM better in the future. I am no longer willing to pay money in order to barely put a dent in the amount of grinding I have to do to unlock skills.

TBH, I think they should go a step beyond that and make vehicle operators ACTUALLY BE SKILLED TO USE THE VEHICLE THEY WANT TO STEAL.
It makes absolutely no sense to me that in Eve, I can't even make a ship active in the hangar if I am not properly skilled for it, but in Dust it is **** skills, I just need to hop in and speed away.
I think it'd go a long way towards solving some of the QQ around here (both from people wanting vehicle locks and it would also give more people a better understanding of what vehicle operators were bitching about since they'd have to be properly skilled to do more than just be a passenger). |

I am thinking of buying some. I think it's fair to pay for the game if one keeps playing it. I don't want AUR for anything specific but will prolly use it for boosters. |
