It would be nice to see a little more developed theory/vision for the lineup of the racial weapon rifle variants. The weapons devblog was a little vague...
For example, comparing the gallente plama weapons to lasers right now is a little confusing. The expectations on what the new rifles and sidearms will bring could cause quite a bit of discomfort...examples right now:
1) The Breach AR is a version of the rail rifle (presumably), but while rail weapons are 'long range' weapons, the Breach AR has the shortest optimal of the ARs.
2) The TAC-AR (plasma) has a longer optimal than the scrambler rifle (but maybe charged shots make up for this...?) Lasers are supposed to be longer range than plasma weapons. Is the scrambler supposed to compete with the TAC-AR or is that the laser rifles job?
3) If the laser rifle fits in the TAC-AR sub-class why do laser users need 2 separate skill trees?
4) How are you going to roll out additional advanced weapons skills? Could the weapons skill tree be changed when all racial variants come out?
5) Once we get all the racial weapons, I think it might make more sense to weight SP into base racial flavors and base weapons fittings (Plasma weapon operation 4x (damage), plasma weapon fitting optimization 5x (CPU), Plasma weapon proficiency (3x) (RoF/ammo) and then let advanced skills further specialize weapons with a little less costs (Plasma Carbine Operation (2x) Plasma Carbine Proficiency (3x) Plasma Carbine fitting optimization (3x))

Range to reps. It could get really silly or really awesome. I'm not sure yet.
Seems really boring, but it could be effective. I'd prefer the logi get some other stuff to do though. Drone control, sentry turret placement, blockade construction, that sort of thing. |

Armor has to exist because caldari logis dont heal sheilds? Not sure I follow the logic.. kind of like saying there is no reason to use sheilds because logis repair tools repair armor. If you are scared of sheilds throw a flux, use a scrambler rifle, group with a nass driver. You have played this game before right? |

Oh and your puny flux grenade? Locus grenades insta kill is with their 35% extra damage against armor. Flux drop your shields but never kill you.
And mass drivers don't need to use fluxes on us because they drop our shields pretty quickly and then they get a massive 35% boost to damage. |

Asking to add logi shield tools when shields are superior to armor is a bad move. After shield vs armor is fixed then go ahead and add it. But NOT before.
Oh and about the speed reduction? Everyone and their mother knows the stacking penalties trick, but speed isn't our only problem, and those plates are extremely CPU/PG intensive it's nuts. |

Especially since the "stacking penalties trick" isn't meant to be that way, and will likely be addressed eventually, at which point the imbalance would be even worse.
Honestly, I don't really like the idea of remote repair for shields at all. You can very easily attain a shield recharge rate of 20 per second or more, which is far beyond what any armor suit is capable of.
I had tossed around the idea with a friend a few days ago, actually, the idea of a kind of Remote Shield Injector that would zap the target and cause their shield regeneration to start instantly instead of having to wait through the stun delay of up to 10 seconds. |

Besides, Logi's are supposed to get bonuses to gear, CCP are just changing some code before they can give all logis specific bonuses. (Caldari/Gallente nanohives, injectors, stuff like that)

I think a handheld shields booster should be a completely different item, and function completely differently as well. It might be cool if a handheld shield booster had to be charged before use, and give one large one-time boost then have a cooldown before it could be used again. Like a 5 second charge time that could be held for as long as you like, and when released would grant 200-300 shields, then a 10 second cooldown before it could be used again. |

Like a 5 second charge time that could be held for as long as you like, and when released would grant 200-300 shields, then a 10 second cooldown before it could be used again. My god people will kill it OP. Not that I'm saying it is, but it surely will be annoying as hell in a battle.
What if it were a sort of buff item? Like a 5 second charge time, then when released it would reduce the shield recharge delay time by 3 seconds and increase the shield recharge rate by 10 per second for 10 seconds of the targeted team-mate, and have a 15 second cooldown time? |

I would like to see amar logi bonus as one that enhances the efficacy of all the logi tools so that advanced functioned at near proto levels
Here cat Merc let me help you out with your next post

What would you like the logi bonus to be? When did I say it's perfect? Don't put words in my mouth. |

It might be cool if a handheld shield booster had to be charged before use, and give one large one-time boost then have a cooldown before it could be used again. Like a 5 second charge time that could be held for as long as you like, and when released would grant 200-300 shields, then a 10 second cooldown before it could be used again. At that point its not much different than a repair tool slowly repping your sheilds.. instead of a cooldown you could have the logi turn around and fire at the flanking red berries |

what about a grenade that added a temporary 200-300 shield to all friendlies in the blast zone. might be funny to see in PC to, accidentally buffing enemies

So he gets a boost and you both can use your weapon.

If the cooldown were specific to each individual, then I could see users of the item just charging up everyone around him with it, with no penalty for doing so. The cooldown would have to effect the use of the tool for everyone, so that it would be an important decision who to use it on. I could see this type of item being a fairly aggressive tool, as compared with the repair tool being defensive.
And another thought, what about about a shield tool that would add the user's shields to the targeted team-mate, but only as long as the tool were held? It would serve as a boost to a unit to be strengthened, but since it would be required to be held it would remove a gun from the battlefield, which would make it risk vs reward.

I was thinking they would be removed as the team-mate was shot, leaving the logi defenseless with no shields after the team-mate begins to take damage. |

And after the logi shields are depeleted, does it add any shields to the guy who is getting repped? Because otherwise, I can see it as a powerful combo with a gallente logi and caldari assault. |

Nah, I would think the link would be broken when the logi's shields were depleted. If the link stayed, the shield recharge would still operate the same way, but would be transferred to the team-mate instead.

to be honest, my gallente logi is doing ok, I feel like any deaths I take are my fault, I REALLY like the cpu bonus for gallente so please don't change that, I get proto everything on equipment and I'll be rocking proto plates soon, I might not be able to go all the way on that but it will make me a lill lighter and cost a lill less cpu.
if anything I would rather see logis get more recognition in game, injectors on the kill feed? resurrections / repairing done?
my gripe isn't with the class, it's with plates and that isn't the topic here so.... |

I'd say 'no' to any remote repping to shield. Unless it involved something like a shield transfer or capacitor.
I'm hoping the deployable shields could work somewhat like nanohives too in that some could have a dropsuit shield benefit.
Each deployable shield could have a capacitor amount:
Each time you step into the shield it cancels your shield recharge delay at the cost of X capacitor. You just stand inside the shield until your own shield heals, but it doesn't use capacitor to repair your shield.
Alternatively, a 'capacitor' based shield transfer system that leeches your shield and regen to transfer to your team mate. You'd transfer more shield than you are losing though. But for a limited time, because the transfer tool would have capacitor that would need to be replenished.

You guys realize Logis can use more than just injectors, reppers, and hives, right? I think there should be a different medium suit altogether that can be full medic with repper bonuses and such. Logistics should have general bonuses that can affect all equipment. |
