If it didn't suck more people would be playing it.

There are less people who plays other game than dust they have about 50 thousand players now thats successful and for CCP to be proud of.

They have some 80 million units sold globaly and their about to demand a fee to play online. They sure as hell better not drop support, else they'll be faced with tad bit of a shitstorm.

PS3 wont require a fee, thats what will keep it going. Only ps4 will require fee to play online.

Dust is very much going to be a niche game much like MAG was. It will never have overwhelming numbers of folks playing it like BF3, Cod or other games. Guess what, that is fine. MAG lived a very long time being a niche game even after lots of us left it to go to other games. The hardcore maggots kept it alive. The hardcore Dust fan base reminds me of those die hard mag players. They can keep it going for awhile. They better spend real life money on it though. CCP is not supporting it out of the kindness of their hearts. I can see it lasting another full year on ps3 then being ported over to ps4 in 2015 or at least I hope it will not be any later than that. Some folks wont get a ps4 right away, but eventually lots that do not, will cave in and then get one. dust will need to be on ps4 when that time comes. I hope they have a plan to bring it over and if not, then they should consider making it a PC game. I think the game could thrive as a PC game more so than console.

I will continue playing this game in hopes that one day it lives up to its potential, the sad thing is though it will be on the back burner for me with play time. With Destiny, bf4, gta5, watch dogs, division, witcher 3. With all those games coming out CCP really needs to kick it into overdrive because a lot of people will leave for good for those games and not come back. I still have hope for Dust 514 and I would hate to see it fail.

Ive pretty much already left. Once BF4 GTA5 and Killzone Shadowfall drop, Ill probably be gone for good.

Don't forget The Division, Destiny and PS2

I strongly disagree with peeps saying this should go for PC (computer). The whole point of making a new game in the same universe that is vastly different and on a console is to attract a whole new player base. I'm really surprised by how many EVEO players there are here. Sure, the F2P business model may suit better on PC, and especially a game of this type - from CCP - that should be in constant development with frequent updates and expansions. But Sony are themselves releasing a F2P game, and some more are on the road, which means the industry is aware of this, most importantly the console maker. Much have happened in the gaming industry during the time the PS3 has been around. Changes have been substantial. Back then there where virtually no smartphones. I think there is room for a game like Dust on a console. Heck, there _has_ to be. If not, there is no need for consoles at all. PC and handheld devices could fill the void. Sony and MS must make sure they are still relevant for gaming, and kinda reinvent the market. They must make an effort to show everyone that they have the best gaming platfrom. They can't expect to be that. So far, Sony have done very well IMO.

Back to Dust. The point is to break new borders. Not make something that has already been iterated dozens of times.

Kb/m support is as far "PC" suport goes. I hope. If they go PC totally, me and everyone I convinced trying Dust are gone for good.

Basically agree with what you're saying except that I don't think it's too late. Everybody likes a comeback story. If CCP stays committed to it and it can stay in stable condition for long enough DUST is likely to eventually realize its potential. When that time comes there will be a marketing push and people that tried it before will try again and be impressed. New folks will join in and it will have a healthy niche in the shooter market. It's like a premature baby that has to be kept under constant monitoring and care in the hospital until it grows stronger. CCP seems to be trying its best to give it the best care possible. They probably shouldn't have induced so early but that's in the past. Hopefully players can keep its heart beating for long enough because it is special and it can be great.
