I had a PS2 for years and still had a grand old time. No worries here kiddies ^^
As for missing the mark, yeah sure did, but they weren't a top-heavy, all-in content concept anyways...
Put it this way:
Essentially, where most people ask for a hamburger they get a choice between a somewhat overpriced, $12 burger from a well-known burger joint or a $1 quarter-pounder with the option for cheese DLC made to look like real food. These are both fine and sustain you for a solid day or just a meal
CCP However, prefers to sell you several hundred acres of land to grow your own wheat and barely, raise your own livestock, and plant all your own ingredients in your own soil with your own hands...so that when you slaughter and slow roast that first cow after you aged your own dairy cheese and seasoned that fresh bread you just made, you can truly understand the pleasure of a burger. Again. And again |

Although it will be F2P, so will Planetside 2(and some other war game I can't think of), and like it or not it, has more favorable reviews than Dust. I really can see Sony cutting Dust off. I think Sony might be more inclined to lend CCP support first.
Honestly it would be a lot smarter if they kept them close but not too close for comfort. They have actually placed their competition right in their pocket really. I wouldn't move CCP anywhere but where they wanted to go, following everything they innovate with my own content. |

If it didn't suck more people would be playing it. So yeah it sucks.
Well I guess we can all play this game... |

Then you can go and fight the subscribed members, who're earning cert points 2-3x as fast as you are and are tens of ranks ahead of you within a couple of weeks.
Seriously, just as much stupid **** goes on in PS2 as in DUST514, PS2 just has larger, persistent maps with controls that are a bit tighter.
Sometimes I think that those who hype PS2 so much here must be on some sort of payroll, because why else would they put so much energy into it? Sony said themselves that they aren't giving up on the PS3 that's way Destiny and other games are going to be made for both consoles I hope your right
They have some 80 million units sold globaly and their about to demand a fee to play online. They sure as hell better not drop support, else they'll be faced with tad bit of a shitstorm. |

And no, I don't think they will. PS2 and Xbox survived quite some time after their next gens came out. 2 years of hardware meltdowns and software crashes later, they finally built up enough of a library and better policies to attract players to make the financial leap...
...trust me, ps3 and xbox360 will be going strong for some time. |

Never heard anything like that, but what I do know is F2Plays and MMO games are being given a optional (and recommended) pass on double-charging their customers. |

If it didn't suck more people would be playing it. So yeah it sucks. There are less people who plays other game than dust they have about 50 thousand players now thats successful and for CCP to be proud of. 5,000 for Dust max , for EVE it could be around 45,000 or much more
Damn it, that's another thing. You do understand that most games would kill for those numbers right? 4-5000 consistent players? Dust is nowhere near dead, the problem is not that it is dying, but that all things die. The problem is that it has no critical mass and that my friends is what every successful game needs at it's core.
Personally, I've said previously that allowing a full market and the ability to be used as ammunition in Eve Online (Boarding Parties) would absolutely launch this game forward. |
