You know, women aren't the only people that get offended by all the toxicity in online games, right? I guess it matters more because they're the supposed minority. Sounds like women want equality only when it's convenient for them. |

And that's why I have friends to play with. If they aren't on, i just leave my mic in a separate channel so I don't have to deal with people. I'd rather be alone than deal with people I don't like(most of them)
I didn't have friends until I was 7. at 8 I was grounded for a full 6 months with nothing but a box of books. being alone is a normal thing for me, interacting with people is hell. |

Not all women. I suppose there are a few that would prefer to have their sex demeaned and unvalued but I think most would like to be respected for what they are. |

I think all decent internet-proficient human beings would agree that you can be just as vulgar as you wish on the internet and say whatever you want and it's cool. We aren't bother by things like "suck my **** *****" and other casual banter. The thing is that's not what people are talking about. What's being talked about is people talking about specific and personal sexual comments towards an individual. And I don't care if it's male or female...or even the same sexes. That's just creepy.

We all just try to tolerate it to some degree until we're desensitized to it. But once a female gets added to the equation, we suddenly have to be on our best behavior? There are some corporations that enforce... a certain rule of speaking with too much profanity or to respect others wishes. In my opinion cussing/cursing is pointless unless you have physical injury in which it can help (psychologically) tone down pain. But I never curse anyways. Cursing also makes arguments seem worthless. Its like adding "like" every 3 words... Its a bad habit that makes you undesirable to people who would make nice friends, with a good impact on you, and to others. Society generally views, and half of the time stops, profanity around children. So should dust. |

Toxicity in a community isn't an old concept, but people just like to turn and look the other way since anonymity dictates it. It only becomes more apparent when gender is thrown into the pot. |

Some of the players you'll meet on F2P games are extremely weird, unfortunately. Most of the dudes on dust are normal but theres still a substantial amount of straight up pervs and weirdos, best thing for a girl to do is leave and blocks these guys asap, prevent them from trying weirdass sh*t by just leaving. There are plenty of polite corps & better squads that would enjoy the company anyways. |
