Everyone knows the Heavy in general is underpowered. There have been many recommendations for ways to fix the problem. I haven't really seen the issue of the very limited slot layouts on the Entire Heavy Class discussed very much.
Here are my proposed slot layouts for the full line of Amarr Heavy Suits with adjusted CPU/PG to compliment.
Amarr Heavy Basic Frames MLT 1H/2L......184 CPU 33 PG STD 1H/2L......193 CPU 39 PG ADV 2H/3L......230 CPU 47 PG PRO 3H/4L......280 CPU 50 PG
Amarr Sentinel STD 1H/3L......184 CPU 47 PG ADV 2H/4L......200 CPU 50 PG PRO 3H/5L......280 CPU 54 PG
Amarr Commando STD 1H/1L/1EQUIP......124 CPU 26 PG ADV 1H/2L/1EQUIP......171 CPU 35 PG PRO 2H/2L/1EQUIP......250 CPU 55 PG |

Hmm I see nothing wrong with these changes. I hate fighting heavies but it seems this won't make them too OP or anything so I suppose I can support it |

heavies are pretty good right now, what i propose is instead of more slots, give them a resistance to certain weapons and weakness to others. this way a nerf hammer isn't needed for weapons that don't need it like the AR. but make it so heavies take maybe 10% less damage from Assault rifles. but maybe make them weaker to an up close submachine gun (it can find weaknesses in armor) give them resistance to shotgun and CCP needs to nerf the flaylock pistol but heavies should still get like 4% resistance to that.
i'm not a heavy so i don't know entirely what i'm talking about so let me know if this could be a worthy fix to return the glory of the heavy |

I'm not opposed to a small arms resistance (infantry light weapons, sidearms, and explosives), but you can't make us more vulnerable to any weapons. We already die way to easily from everything. SMGs destroy us in CQC so much so that when I face off against another heavy I usually tuck my HMG back and whip out my SMG. I can usually kill better with the standard SMG in CQC than I can the Boundless HMG. |

Yea a lot of people stopped playing. I was on this morning and out of the 3 matches I was in my team was outnumbered and pitted against proto stompers.
Sad really. |

As it stands right now, the basic heavy frame is a FG users dream suit. Two highs for Damage mods, and you can rack up 800 armor to go with your proto grenade and proto SMG. Very effective suit, lots of options.
I don't know about the sentinel, as i never specced into it, but having it be clearly different from the basic frame was a goal of CCP when they were developing it. The problem with giving it more high slots is that it makes the basic frame a non factor in higher levels, which handicaps newer players who could otherwise get on a near even level with a much more experienced player simply by being in a basic frame running two damage mods.
Locking the most powerful suits behind a couple of million SP is not where CCP wants to go I think, and I agree with that mindset if that is what they are doing.
More CPU and PG would be nice though, to save people from having to level up dropsuit electronics to level 5 in order to fit everything proto on the basic heavy proto suit. |

+1 but we can expect the new racial heavies to have at least 1 more slot. Amarr always has the lowest number of highs and lows while slots are good modules don't really have a big percent increase in total HP. 1012 passive compared to 1600 maxed modules for tank. (Only 60%) cal logi 270 passive for maxed tank can have up to 1270. (470%) I'm more for the resistance make setinel get 5% increase to small arms resistance per level excluding shotguns and sniper head shots. That will put heavies at 2000 EHP (25% res) a good 57% more health than the most tanked medium suit. For reference the most tanked light suit is still easily half that of the most tanked medium suit.

HeavyGÇÖs not good enough? Really? In what games? Because they are doing pretty good in Instant battle Skirmish
IGÇÖm not sure how well they are versus something on their own tech-tier, but they are doing pretty well against stuff at Standard-tier. And thatGÇÖs the problem, if they get more perks, it means everything else thatGÇÖs not on that tech-tier is going to suffer. |

At std level they're good but in PC battles you never see heavies or they're easily soloed vs an assualt . Pro vs pro they don't match evenly, in the last 2 pc battles I've been in I've seen 2 heavies and 1 was using a scrambler rifle. |

Heavies were supposed to be the infintry version of a tank, to literally be able to stand up against a tank and repell them or hold them at bay, they currently can not do such a thing. Now I know we do not want to make heavies into gods, that isn't the point, but I think they should get a bonus against large calibur fire weapons, mainly things that would come from tanks or LAVs and should cause heavy damage to any LAV that hits into them. Cause honestly, you can not move fast at all in a heavy suit you can not dodge well, in general bonuses against taking damage, however for this trade off, restriction of weapons, such as they can not use knives, shotguns, pistols, sniper rifles, and various other weapons (unless you are the commando). Also, the gernades would be limited down in type and how many you can use, such as you could no longer use the AV gernades and flux gernades. This would be the trade off for having a lot more powerful weapons for the heavy in the HMG and other Heavy class weaponry.
Reasons for changing what weapons can be used -size of suits and size that the hands must be to be able to provide protection to the user. -Increased damage protection. -Vehicles can no longer hit you without being heavily punished.
This would not be asking for a buff, this would be asking for trade offs, by giving up various things that I could do in the past in order to fill the role I am supposed to be as a heavy. If it was possible to ask for I would ask that heavies be banned from all gernade types and be given something similar to large planted explosives. Ideas and thoughts on this all? |

No...just no.
Heavies already have given much for what we have.
Pros
- Big weapon
- Lots of ammo
- More base HP
Cons
- very slow movement
- Largest hitbox
- Slowest shield recharge rate
- Highest shield recharge delay
- least stamina
- slowest stamina recovery
- Largest scan profile
- Lowest scan range
- Worst scan precision
- No Equipment

A heavy is supposed to be a deterrent. If you come my way I will make you regret it. But sadly this is not the case. I have been a heavy for a long time and I am so over assault AR players and there crying. We are underpowered. We supposed to be able to defend a point but cannot. I say more slots and more armor and shields. It takes over 150K to run my proto only to see it destroyed by a pack of newbie militia as I am supposed to be holding the objective, WTF I shake my head at this. I am not supposed to be a god on the battlefield, but how am I supposed to do my d**n job when I cant even fight off a few personal. The heavy is a joke and the only ones saying it is not, is the ones who want to pub stomp there way to the top with AR's. Assault suits can bunny hop over my head then lob a nade at me before I can even turn, this is no way fair. I cant even jump a freakin curb. I am so over people saying heavies are fine. We are a broken class with a broken HMG that cannot even kill someone within 10 feet because they can run away faster than we can or just hop away. Some say make us slower are you kidding, we cant even run across the road without being hit by an LAV because were so slow. So please if your not a heavy , then you have never felt pain the way we have. Again not wanting to be a god on the battlefield just want to be a viable part and do what I was meant to be. |
