Everyone knows the Heavy in general is underpowered. There have been many recommendations for ways to fix the problem. I haven't really seen the issue of the very limited slot layouts on the Entire Heavy Class discussed very much.
Here are my proposed slot layouts for the full line of Amarr Heavy Suits with adjusted CPU/PG to compliment.
Amarr Heavy Basic Frames MLT 1H/2L......184 CPU 33 PG STD 1H/2L......193 CPU 39 PG ADV 2H/3L......230 CPU 47 PG PRO 3H/4L......280 CPU 50 PG
Amarr Sentinel STD 1H/3L......184 CPU 47 PG ADV 2H/4L......200 CPU 50 PG PRO 3H/5L......280 CPU 54 PG
Amarr Commando STD 1H/1L/1EQUIP......124 CPU 26 PG ADV 1H/2L/1EQUIP......171 CPU 35 PG PRO 2H/2L/1EQUIP......250 CPU 55 PG |

Arc-08 wrote:heavies are pretty good right now, what i propose is instead of more slots, give them a resistance to certain weapons and weakness to others. this way a nerf hammer isn't needed for weapons that don't need it like the AR. but make it so heavies take maybe 10% less damage from Assault rifles. but maybe make them weaker to an up close submachine gun (it can find weaknesses in armor) give them resistance to shotgun and CCP needs to nerf the flaylock pistol but heavies should still get like 4% resistance to that.
i'm not a heavy so i don't know entirely what i'm talking about so let me know if this could be a worthy fix to return the glory of the heavy
I'm not opposed to a small arms resistance (infantry light weapons, sidearms, and explosives), but you can't make us more vulnerable to any weapons. We already die way to easily from everything. SMGs destroy us in CQC so much so that when I face off against another heavy I usually tuck my HMG back and whip out my SMG. I can usually kill better with the standard SMG in CQC than I can the Boundless HMG. |

Yea a lot of people stopped playing. I was on this morning and out of the 3 matches I was in my team was outnumbered and pitted against proto stompers.
Sad really. |

IGÇÖm not sure how well they are versus something on their own tech-tier, but they are doing pretty well against stuff at Standard-tier. And thatGÇÖs the problem, if they get more perks, it means everything else thatGÇÖs not on that tech-tier is going to suffer.
Proto Assault > Proto Heavy
Every time.
If I do get the kill, his buddy will finish me off.

Now I know we do not want to make heavies into gods, that isn't the point, but I think they should get a bonus against large calibur fire weapons, mainly things that would come from tanks or LAVs and should cause heavy damage to any LAV that hits into them. Cause honestly, you can not move fast at all in a heavy suit you can not dodge well, in general bonuses against taking damage, however for this trade off, restriction of weapons, such as they can not use knives, shotguns, pistols, sniper rifles, and various other weapons (unless you are the commando). Also, the gernades would be limited down in type and how many you can use, such as you could no longer use the AV gernades and flux gernades. This would be the trade off for having a lot more powerful weapons for the heavy in the HMG and other Heavy class weaponry.
Reasons for changing what weapons can be used -size of suits and size that the hands must be to be able to provide protection to the user. -Increased damage protection. -Vehicles can no longer hit you without being heavily punished.
This would not be asking for a buff, this would be asking for trade offs, by giving up various things that I could do in the past in order to fill the role I am supposed to be as a heavy. If it was possible to ask for I would ask that heavies be banned from all gernade types and be given something similar to large planted explosives. Ideas and thoughts on this all?
No...just no.
Heavies already have given much for what we have.
Pros
- Big weapon
- Lots of ammo
- More base HP
Cons
- very slow movement
- Largest hitbox
- Slowest shield recharge rate
- Highest shield recharge delay
- least stamina
- slowest stamina recovery
- Largest scan profile
- Lowest scan range
- Worst scan precision
- No Equipment
