You know, radical surgical response to cancer is rarely effective.

On top of being highly disfiguring there is the chance of metastisization because of the main carcinoma no longer producing angiostatins, secondary infections, and the danger of complications inherent with all surgery. Radically surgery, particularly in breast cancer is a barbaric remnant of a bygone medical dark ages.

We now know that the only effective treatments are holistic approaches of targeted surgery either through traditional means or non-invasive techniques like a gamma knife and chemo-therapy. And thought the chemo-therapy techniques pioneered by Dr. Farber have come a long way (you should read about his original trials on Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and maybe you wouldn't be so flippant in comparing a video game to one of the great horrors of the modern age.) it's still a very dangerous, incredibly punishing, and in many ways spiritually crushing ordeal.

If you're through being flip about the very real disease that kills roughly 7.8 million people a year, I would urge you all to get yourselves screened and to make your general physician aware of any family history or risk factors you might have. The best treatment for cancer (despite what this nimrod espouses) is early detection and prevention. Also, quit smoking and wear your god damn sunscreen. Cancer Sucks.
