The problem is the d-bags that are running around with 30% revives. You have no chance in hell to get away, let alone shoot back with that little health. My 80% revives? They have changed the tide of a firefight many a time.
An option to accept revive would be awesome. It's amazing how many mercs only care about the points, and don't care that a sniper or LLAV are licking their chops, waiting for another easy kill. |

Needs to be a cooldown on it, TBH, not only do poor noobs that don't understand why they are coming back to life with 30% health die constantly, but it also prevents the large majority of good logisticians to get WP for revive; I always take a good look around, peer around nearby corners, and then by the time I get to my team-mates body, he's already been revived (and sometimes has already died) by a starter assault fit with a nanite injector equipped who was grinding WP. |

@Booby Tuesdays: Yeah, it sucks to see a random picking up a blueberry with a 30% a split second before you jam your proto-injector in him. A MLT or PRO Nanite injector gives the same WP, this is not actually true because one can get more WP by repairing the freshly 30% revived blueberry. I hope they will look into this in one of these patches.
@Vin Mora: Well I guess you were lucky, but that isn't how it should be at the moment. Did you noticed it on other occassions?
I also like to add that clearing the field is not really necessary all the time, but it also doesn't mean you have to go and act like a fool. Having a PRO Nanite Injector for this is a good idea, but don't be foolish and realise that a shield-tanker may have some flimsy armor. A nice back-up squad, awareness,... are also a great help for doing it. Sometimes when you get hardcore on the reviving (I like these kind of games) the bluedots will even wait on a revive after a while if they notice you doing a good job.
But to get back on topic: the main problem is that people get revived in bad situations or insta-revived over and over again...because of the reward (WP or just being a *******). Common Suggestions to counter this are'
- Making a bleed out option on the kill-screen - Make revives only possible if the players asks for it - Only give a WP-reward if the target stays alive for X seconds.
I suggest something like this:
You get shot down and your dropsuit goes into a sort of hibernation-mode to keep you alive, your HUD dissappears to save some power. You can hear your heartbeat which goes fainter and fainter as the bleed-out timer expires (more like chromosome). Besides the count-down timer you can see a message to activate the self-terminating procedure (bleeding out).
[Would it be cool if the enemies can hack your dropsuit while in this mode to gain a extra clone?]
If you didn't decide to bleed-out you can wait untill a person injects (the reviver) you with nanites (the reviver gets WP). You HUD shows up again with an extra option (you can still end your miserable life) to arise from the dead. If you do decide to stand up again the reviver gets an additional amounts of WP.
What do you think? |

I'll be interested in "Real corps" if matchmaking starts enforcing it or when PC starts becoming entertaining enough on a personal level for me to ever bother with it.
In EVE corps have a purpose and have tangible benefits, in DUST they are more a social aspect with no tangible benefits outside of PC or making it easy to "squad up," something I wish they'd fix.
Additonally, if you want people to start playing modes properly and start caring outside of personal/squad gain, then there needs to be an extra reward for winning a match.
Currently with a cut-throat "Our squad first" mentality there is no incentive to win a match in pub matches, and the main concern is simply scoring WPs getting kills and not dying, to hell with your random team mates. Winning/losing changes nothing at the moment in pub matches. |

Some don't like to be rezzed due to low health rezz. Some cause of "out of ammo" some don't want rezzed because they want to change suits. I have the answer to the first one with high level injectors, immediate reps, the second with powerful hives and the third with oops, oh well, they haven't implemented nanite wardrobes for rezz suit changes. I was a little fired up earlier, does that make better sense?

Yeah, it seems if a logi is fitted out for logiing and not combat logis (I've seen far too many of these) then they will have difficulty clearing the area. A good tactic that works for me is timing and bullet sponging for them. If you see the direction they're hit from then put yourself in the way! Other suits are made for fighting and so should (in theory) be better at it. You save them, they save you. Also, logis should prioritise- if you see a dead heavy and a dead scout which do you think has the most chance of survival? They could also help you rez the other. Logis need to think tactically and squad comms help a lot. That's why I put my squad first.
A relatively simple solution to this problem. Oh, and dead people: BE PATIENT while we work. |

The only problem with nanite injectors is blurpleberries using them, if you aren't a logi then put the damn injectors down and get a nanohive, if you're not going to rep someone, don't inject someone. |

In risky revives, I place myself between the main source of danger (such as a sniper, if I see where he's shooting from) and the person I revive. Generally, I run a suit with 300-350 eHP, so unless the person I'm reviving has 700 armour or more, I'll tank any hits incoming better than him when I revive him with my KIN-012.
Simply by doing this, I can say I've saved a person from being camped when dead multiple times, but its mostly people who use that obscure power slide mechanic (seriously, we need some kind of training facility for this) that save themselves.
If the person I revive is taken out again, I'll only attempt another revive if he calls for help.
Thing is, the revival system is working amazingly right now, and I worry that any changes will simply stuff with the actual logibros who want to do their job.
But if people want an option to bleed out, or if it should be like Chromosome where you bleed out when you choose to respawn, so be it. I find having the overview map open whilst I'm waiting for someone to revive me a great way to plan my next moves.
Although I do like RKs idea about only getting WP if the victim lives after your revive. This time requirement could also be used for dropship WP, where people to deploy have to do something a minute after you drop them for the pilot to get WP. |

You're a good example of a good logi. I tend to use proto gallente suits with full support equipment and 800 ish health overall so I can be the most efficient logi I can. It really annoys me to see proto logi suits with militia equipment because they've just stacked on tons of health. I think logis should have 2 types of fitting: weaponry and health for one type and equipment for another. This should end the plague of 'combat logis' and increase the amount of proper logis and give assault suits a better role.
I guess my point is: don't nerf nanite injectors; buff the brains of some of the people that use them. Seriously, they may as well be using manure injectors with how **** they are. |

Yeah, we definitely need the bleedout option back from closed beta. I'm tired of being revived by turkeys while I am looking at the stats of the person who killed me, or looking for a spawn point, only to be shot down instantly again before I even realize what has just happened.
I've already got the death on my record, I might as well come back with a fresh batch of tools.
Best solutions to stop nanite noobs from performing a death-revive-death ritual on you:
- Bleedout option, preferably available ASAP upon death. Perhaps it could be mapped to triangle or something.
- If you get revived then killed again 10 seconds after the revive, the one who revived gets -120 WP. So not only do they lose their 60 from reviving you, but they also get punished with another -60 to teach them a lesson.
- Opposite of a bleedout option is a call for help option, medics can only revive after you have called for help (Best solution)
- Other option would be that you get no additional deaths if you get shot down again. I mean it's the same damn clone... so why am I getting another death? Might make the nanite injector something other than useless if it takes the kill away from whoever killed you in the first place.
Get on it CCP, stick it in 1.4 before it goes to Sony! |

Obviously the logi who rev'ed you sucks outloud. I always make sure im in front of those that I rev. And my rep tool is out automatically after I rev them. Some of the people in this game are real pieces of crap who only care about points rather than helping the team. If you are gonna rev someone, make sure you clear the area and protect that rev'd guy. That's your JOB if you aren't going to do it right, than spec into something else. |

What if I had a good chance to revive you and you pressed that button that allows me to revive one second to late? OMGZ LOGIS ARE USELESS threads anyone? You're punishing the good logis and you can't be sure some dickhead is waiting anyway...
I couldn't care about your KDR, get over it, the best solution is to remove the KDR stat. Read my previous post there is an idea that's good for both parties (yes, it protects your KDR). We are clones and have experienced dead a many times, we're indifferent to it. ISK! That's what we should care about.
Here is another idea: make it so that the nanites that were injected gives you immunity to damage for a few sec so you can get in cover or something like that. |
