Nah - many assumed PvP (in some aspect) and had wet dreams about best of both worlds etc. $60 for that is kind of hard to take.I know it can be done well though.
ME3 was much smaller and I played that tons
If there is no PvP then I will take even longer to notice it. I am not some elite guy, far from it but there is always that difference about playing against real people. |

Well, I'm sure getting it, Day 1, maybe the PS4 version. Dunno. I could care less if it has PvP. Dust is really the only multiplayer game I play, that and BF3 sometimes, and lately, The Last of Us, other than that I'd rather just play Single Player games, maybe Co-op.
And now that I think of it. I'm pretty sure it is PvP. I think as long as your flagged for it, you can attack anyone anywhere, either that, or there's a certain place for it. Otherwise I'd like to see a link where Bungie said there would be no PvP. |

When you think about it, they probably wouldn't want to go stepping on Halo's toes by putting the focus on PvP, nevermind competitive PvP, with Destiny.
Better to appeal to the larger crowd of gamers through Destiny by just making it enjoyable, and leave the actual PvP that matters to the Halo franchise. |

Where? Where's the link? Every thing I'm reading about Destiny says there will be PvP, if you don't like playing games alone or with friends without killing each other than "lol, GTFO". It's your loss. |

So basically it's a pve heroes dream, it's pointless, un challenging and no competition. Just the same old grinding rubbish with nice graphics. If your a competitive PvP type gamer then this game is absolutely 100% not for you,

General Technique wrote:This thread reminds me of all the kiddies that used to say "Global Agenda isn't dying" all the way up until half a year AFTER the developer had stopped supporting the game. I used to drop into the community with the sole purpose of having a quiet chuckle at how deep in denial the tiny group of hangers-on were. That wasn't the first game I did that with, wasn't the last either, and if Dust's current direction is any indication..... I'll still have many opportunities for quiet chuckles in the future......
Last time I checked I was looking at features for 1.4 and beyond in the works so... I mean its not like Dust 514 2 isn't in development like Global Agenda was. |

Most competitive games aren't challenging either, for example COD or BF, those games are pretty much whoever shoots first wins...
PvE can be difficult. It can be. But it offers a story which most straight MP games don't. |

Yes it is.
But the point is, with Destiny you're supposed to experience huge world, well not just Earth, the moon, Mars, and other planets too. It's a story, it isn't go kill people on random map, repeat. |

Erhm, Halo 3 was Bungie's eff you to MS since they were locked into project and a contract they just didn't want.
The originators of COD are making Titanfall and that game is indeed looking better and better.

There will be $15 expansions if you wish to continue seeking more guns to take down the bad guys, then in a couple years a $60 sequel.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy games like what Destiny appears to be, but it is no substitute for what Dust is working towards.
Couple of years? Decade long development plan doesn't seem like a couple of years and bam a new game, think you have the wrong game in mind. |

They say that they are starting from scratch, when if you watch gameplay it's obvious they are still using repeated textures used in call of duty, the environment even practically looks the same as a CoD game when you watch the gameplay. That's the thing about bungie and Activision, they claim they are the innovative force in the gaming industry, when in-fact they are one of the least innovative in the entire business. And Halo 3 wasn't the only error in Bungie's long list, you also have Halo Wars (just a typical strategy game with halo slapped on the name), ODST (should have just been a simple dlc), and even movies made after Halo. They profited on the fact they could keep repeating the same **** over and over again and people would buy it. Same thing happened with Call of Duty. It doesn't take much to keep repeating the same thing that gives you easy profit, but it's a whole new ball game when you decide to truly innovate every title you release. |

I've read numerous times it does have PvP, but if it doesn't, who cares? You don't have to be competitive.
This page however, does exist, and mentions competitive MP.

I'm honestly starting to think you're like those kids on COD who think they're all BA. What happened to gaming? Why are there so many people who were called nerds for playing games, but then when all this competitive military FPS crap came out, everyone loves gaming? |

COD uses the ID Tech 2 Engine, albeit, heavily modified, it has since COD 2 in 2005. Titantfall isn't made by Activision, Destiny isn't made by Activision, and Call of Duty isn't made by Activision. Titatnfall is made by Respawn which is lead by the creators of the original COD who left after MW2. Titanfall also uses the Source Engine made by Valve. The game looks nothing like COD in graphics, and not much like it in gameplay either. Destiny on the other hand, does look innovative, much more than most other games out there. |
