True CCP said one thing, but so many people predicted exactly this would happen but people took on the grind yesterday. Rather than wait a mere 24 hours.

Here's how I see the situation and I'm curious to understand exactly where the disconnect is what I'm thinking and what everyone else has been thinking because every time I tried to understand what people thought was going on the more confused I got.

So as I see it the weekly cap is 190,400 SP. On Wednesday if earned that much SP you would hit the soft cap and earn 1 SP per WP up to 1,000 SP. On Thursday the weekly cap would be increased from 190,400 to 571,200 SP. At this point there is no "remainder" or anything else. There's simply more SP to be earned before you hit the cap. Same as if you don't cap out in a single day and come back the next day. You continue earning SP until you hit the cap, it's just that simple. So no matter what day you earned the SP, how much you got this day vs that day or whether or not the rate has been tripled yet or not makes absolutely no difference. The absolute maximum every player will earn before hitting the soft cap is 571,200 SP. So would someone explain how you could possibly "lose" SP by playing on Wednesday?

And as for the "multiplying" or "adding" thing I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about at all. The only thing being multiplied is the amount of SP you get per WP (maybe time in match as well, don't know and doesn't matter). For example after hitting the soft cap you have to earn at least 1,000 WP to earn the full 1,000 SP. During the triple SP event you would only have to earn 334 WP to earn 1,000 SP since 334 x 3 = 1,002.

And I'm assuming that it wouldn't make a difference whether they started on Wednesday or Thursday is because all they were doing is changing those two values. However, those values most likely occur several times in the game's code and interact with multiple aspects of the software. One of those interactions was overlooked or entered incorrectly or already contained an unnoticed bug that is causing the behavior we're seeing. Or maybe each instance on those values needed to be changed manually and one got missed or entered incorrectly.

So anyway, that's just how I see this whole situation and the reason I feel like I'm on a different page than a lot of players.

it doesn't increase the post game results.

it does in fact make it easier to get 1500sp though.

if you get 500wp you will still get 1500sp post game.

if you read it most of the people in this thread didnt cap out yesterday and maybe got anywhere from 40-150k sp yesterday, a rare few are the tryhards.

You know, I really felt this game was going to be great. But, CCP. ITS A FCUKING CATASTROPHIC FAIL. I had high hopes. It will get better. Wrong. You nerf everything, then people btich and complain so you buff it back. You promise 3x so and didn't come through as promised. Yes you are working on it but, myself, as a gamer that had such high hopes for the game feel as if you have had enough time and going to step back from the game until you get your shti figured out.

This is unfortunately a problem I'm not sure we'll be able to do much about other than apologize. I'll see if we can do anything for those folks, but I can't promise anything.

As mentioned by you the standard weekly cap is 190,400 sp. with this event the target cap for the week is to be set at 571,200. This is exactly triple the standard weekly cap

So let's say I earned 90400 sp on Wednesday bringing my remaining sp to earn for the week down to 100k sp.

what should of occured as per the devs comments is as follows 380800 sp should of been added to our caps. bringing the total sp remaining to 480800sp

instead the 100k was tripled bringing the remaining sp total to 300k.


hopefully you can follow this logic so far.


so now let's step back to immediately after Wednesdays reset.


I now have 190,400 sp cap remaining


multiplied by 3 which is what occured

190400 x 3 = 571,200sp which is the weekly target


additive results is as follows

190400 + 380800 = 571,200sp which again is the weekly target.


as you can see if done after the patch their is no chance for the problem to occur, and we can look at the previous triple sp event to see that no problem occurred during that event, when applied immediately after down time.

If you have 90,400 SP and the cap is 571,400 that leaves 481,000 SP left before you hit the cap. Could you explain exactly why you think it isn't that?

I've got nothing else to do at the moment and I really do enjoy a good debate but honestly trying to sort out what you meant with the arithmetic and multiplication is just too much for volunteer work so I'll just leave it here.
