Option 1: Play with you Main character on Wednesday, hit cap, rage when Thursday comes and triple SP bonus is affected because you hit the cap.
Option 2: Use you alt on Wednesday because you anticipate, irrespective of what Dev's have said, that there is a more than likely possibility that something will get messed up, and the 3x SP event will not go down smoothly. log in on thursday with your main character, and enjoy 3x sp event.
........ i chose Option 2.
i know what i just wrote may seem like a d!ck move, but honestly how many really thought this would go down hassle free? (especially given this Games past history with accidental mishaps affecting the game experience). i saw what the Dev's were saying about the cap not getting affected, but i just took the side of caution because quite frankly, i was skeptical. it turns out now that skepticism was well placed, but i do understand the frustration of many on here. i hope CCP can fix it in time so you all can benefit from the 3x cap.
if you have an alt, i'd suggest trying to Cap that character in the mean time, rather than playing for the 1500 Sp for your main character. If CCP can fix it, then go back and finish capping off your main character. |

for all of the people debating the logic behind the start time for this event (Wednesday vs. Thursday):
to be fair, if CCP was thinking about it, they should have started this event on Wednesday, IMHO. yeah i get that they wanted to get the 4th July crowd, and have like a mini event to honour the USA's holiday (i guess), but if they thought it through they would realise that a player who has the 4th off to play most likely has the evening/night of the 3rd to play/grind through the SP also (as like, there's no work on the 4th to go to), hence creating a greater likelihood of what we are seeing today.
again, it sucks for you guys who's out of pocket (for boosters, AUR weapons etc.) and time spent. i hope CCP is keeping a log of these mishaps, and ensures that these problems remain a one off.
