Effective 15:30 UTC on July 1st, we have implemented a minimum play time restriction on the DUST 514 forums. Anyone who wishes to post on the DUST forums from this point on must have in-game play time for at least a minimum of 10 minutes.
This was done in order to combat a recent rash of spamming on our forums.
Please note this change goes into effect for new accounts only. Anyone who had an account prior to this change can still post on the forums regardless of their play time.

The 10 minutes can be adjusted later if we see a good reason to do it :-) For now we're going to stick with 10 minutes and see what happens!

Good change, but tbh make it longer. EVE-O got a 72h limit before you can post, make it at least like 30 min (thats like 3 matches right?) Before ppl can whine.

can we adjust it to something not stupid small... i would suggest at least 10 hours because 10 minutes would not be enough to slow down spammers and you don't want something to long take your casual players wouldn't reach in a week. |

hopefully they won't be able to take 10 minutes away from playing ps2 considering how "good" it is,

People are somehow overestimating and underestimating the dedication of spamming trolls
10 minutes is more than enough to stop most of them and for the really dedicated ones no amount of time will be enough to truly stop them
Anyway way yeah 10 minutes is fine but a copy of this threads OP should be posted and stickied in every board here just so there is absolutely no chance any potential new players checking the forum while the game is downloading or something can miss it |

This is a solid change, but you may want to consider changing it to atleast an hour. That way, most casual players will get to join the forums very quickly, while spammers and trolls will be slowed or dissuaded from these forums. Even if you don't change the time though, you should still make it clear if a Dust account can't post yet. |

You should delete all people who do not use the spell or grammar check :-). There would and will be a lot less trolling  |
