I honestly tell them not to play.
Because if they do play, they will never come back.

To not waste their time, they're too far behind with SP and will never be worth anything and that their real parents gave them up and they're adopted. |

This is a odd game it needs to go more towards being a FPS for 6 months (aiming, mechanics, etc fill out existing racial dropsuits) then RPG elements need to be layered in |

I told a couple people that already knew I was playing that the best way to earn WPs was to murder taxi, but I rarely speak about DUST to anyone. Like others I don't see the point in advertising a game before it's out of beta and is fun to play. |

I first ask that if they have a PS 3.
I normally don't need a step 2. (seriously though, all the people I'd want in a nice little tight knit squad don't have PS3's, and many don't have Xbox's either) |

I would tell them about the game and that they should play it for more than just one day. My friend did the same thing, played for one day and quit. Told him give it more time and now he says he really likes the game. |

When I explain Dust, I normally tell them it's like Halo and Battlefield had a baby. Not completely accurate, but it's a comparison using two very popular games. Then I tell them it's extremely deep with a serious time commitment attached. Oh, and I tell them to watch my New Player's Guide videos before they do anything. (Shameless self-promotion) |

Yeah. I normally say to play on one account and let another accrue SP passively. The first account is more of a "trial and error" account to see what role they're interested in. Funny thing is a lot of the new players I've played with really like the game. Veterans are the ones with the issues because they have higher expectations. Most new players see a free game as something that shouldn't be very good at all, and to be honest, Dust really isn't that bad of a game. People are just so immersed into the game's politics and development that any move CCP makes that they don't agree with turns into another reason Dust is a failure in their eyes. |

My biggest complaint is the hit detection sometimes. I've missed a lot of charged scrambler shots to bad hit detection. I do believe CCP can fix the problems and make this game awesome though. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. |

No shooter should have random bullet spread. I believe that's one of the reasons MAG failed.
Seriously I've been here for a year and have never experienced random bullet spread on any weapon. |
