Games are always most assuredly better than their competition if they have good narrative, and or a reason for player immersion. |

"It's just a name" that's the attitude that a need to change with Dust, A corp is something you should have pride in, take pleasure out of the corps infamy, its trustworthiness, its prestige, and of course its player base. In most FPS games a clan or corp is a group of people you play with but the bigger and stronger corps always consider themselves more than that, they are communities, families, friends, etc.
Lol,

Well that would be up to the corp leadership. I'm just a grunt spreading the word of God.
PIE Inc RP's, we roll FW missions, we try to maintain full squads when possible and when I get online during peak hours year I like to get the word out the the EVE guys to roll out some OB's.
PIE Inc only accepts Amarr or Amarr bloodline races, Khanid, Ni Kunni, Amarr, and were not up for Bloodraiders, Sansha's Nation, or cultist deviants of the faith. In game RP is not required by in IC interview is. GIve it a try and talk to Aethrion Mirra or Aldrith Shutaq.
If I can get a way to record EVE gameplay I would roll some out of me dropping OB's running FW complexing, so on so forth.
@ Icecream- Well it is since I am successfully achieving a level of immersion and therefore enjoying it, as would I say is the predominant number of Duster in my corporation

- The game is fun (for people that still find it fun even with the flaws that's a big positive).
Yes, I enjoy snapping a few rounds into some redberry hacking my objective. Success is when the letter stops flashing and I know I've sent at least a few more missiles into the enemy MCC.
I enjoy seeing the preparatory uplinks I've dropped see use when the CRU and objective in our end have been taken. I see the WP wind up as people start spawning in and retaking our end of the map.
I like spotting a vehicle getting hammered and chipping in a few sniper rounds. About half the time the system will recognize my effort and give me some WP. This can even work for structures.
I enjoy counter-sniping people off of tall buildings or mountains. I know I've saved a few of my bros every time I take out one of those bastards.
I enjoy being near enough to the fray that I can chip away at shields and armor ending up with twice the assists as kills. I may be hated by many but I'm rewarded by knowing I've helped my team.
And, yes, I know hit boxes are a problem, sometimes I can't hit people I should. I know we don't have explosions working as they should. I know we use the same maps all the time. I know we have way too many LAVs as I become roadkill often enough. I know there is no permanence to anything I do.
When I'm in battle... I'm in battle and I need to support my team. That's all. |

greed and meaning behind a match.
it's not much but I always find I give a **** about dieing and getting kills in dust, where in most shooters I could care less.
the concept of the equipment permanently being lost, and each death causing you to lose money has added purpose, if they can focus on that element and expand purpose into everything we do dust would be a good game imo.
sadly purpose currently stops at the equipment you bring to the fight =/

This would be nice except for the bilking and backstabbing that is expected, encouraged, and celebrated in this particular universe. I gave a few Mil to a corp that was all talk and no do at the end of the day. No skin off my nose, but it was a waste of my effort, so I have decided not to participate in corps, because I can't stand that kind of petty thievery dressed up as intrigue.
One has to admire your support for the poor dimwits who "just don't get" this game. I love the places your mind went when trying to imagine the tawdry shallows of "FPS players" minds. Project much? "FPS players" as you so condescendingly sneer in the paragraph above, do understand narrative. Unfortunately, your "narrative" sucks. It is just the reading of the business minutes in a den of untrustworthy troglodytes. Go play dress-up with your friends. I want an FPS that is immersive without having to pretend it's immersive. |

Hey all, I'm part of PIE's Ground Command and just wanted to f.y.i. that we do have an allied corp, the Praetorian Auxiliary Force [PAUX] for non-amarr that want to join. Also PIE Inc is one of EVE's oldest corps (I think among first 3, and just celebrated our 10th anniversary.) We are an RP corp but we keep that to text, so if you're interested don't be afraid of having to talk in character on your mic. We RP for fun, just to add some flavor to what we do. People tend to leap to the grognard image of basement-dwelling, reality-lost, neckbeards at the mere mention of RP. The truth couldn't be further, we're just a group of guys and gals playing a game. If you still don't believe me play with us, we meet up on our in-game channel PIE Public.
