CCP Eterne wrote:Hey, we have an internal roadmap. Our lead designer is currently at E3 but when he gets back the plan is for him to write a dev blog that will at least give a rough overview of our roadmap in the coming months. We anticipate people will be pleased with it. E3 ended on 13 June, and it's been 11 days since then.
Who is your lead designer?
Is he back from E3 yet?
Is he writing the dev blog?
Any ETA on roadmap?
Any roadmap for the next few days on upcoming dev blogs?
Please? |

They pretty much already gave a roadmap of the future at fanfest, it was the talk on advancing the core. They talked about short term goals which they defined as 6-12 months (from Fanfest's time), and defined far future goals as 18+ months I believe. You might want to watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKYglEoJyNc until they release the devblogs, they never release their devblogs on time; one time I remember they said a devblog would be out in a few hours, and it took them over a day. Many devblogs that were suppose to be released that they told us about never got released.
This covers things coming in Uprising 1.2, skip to around 17:50 http://www.gamebreaker.tv/mmorpg/ccp-games-e3-presentation/
Also, ISK transfers from person to person, and from corp to corp http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/06/team-true-grit-for-uprising-1.2/ |

Maybe its like an episode of Hangover and the CCP rep who is incharge of the Roadmap is locked on top of the hotel roof while the game developers are roaming the streets looking for whose finger it is they have? |

Just a note but due to the feedback we've received since Uprising the roadmap has greatly changed since the Fanfest presentation. We're looking far more on fixing our basic mechanics than other things. |

That is how we are approaching it. However, we have to keep open the ability to go back and tackle issues that crop up when our designs do not live up to our expectations or we have other issues that are critical to fix. |

This makes me very happy. The mechanics are what are messing up game growth more than anything. |

LOL, at the stealth edit.
I appreciate the update, lets see if they can actually get it together for Thursday.
We should take bets on if this will have been worth the wait. I personally have been waiting since April for a look at the much vaunted Roadmap.
What do you think the most important feature to not be on the roadmap will be?
How far do you think it will extend? Will we even see the other racial variants on the map? The rest of the HAV's? Item Trading?

Incidentally, explaining the design goals goes a long way towards quelling forum range.
For instance, it took a lot of head scratching to understand what was going on when Remnant gave the breakdown of which AR variant 'belonged' with each race, that really should have been laid out clearly in a short dev blog instead. |

I can only hope that this is true, focusing on fixing core mechanics cause I fear most people are at the end of their patience in waiting for this game to once again become decent. new content is always nice, but means nothing when lag, framerate, core issues are not fixed.
chromosome had most of this down, with the exception of mega range than was fixed here, for the most part and after some early tweeks, but the rest of the game has gone to crap with little insight as to it being remedied. players have left by the thousands already due to invincible LAV spam, poor hit detection, and the inability to have a fair fight in PC vs corps from other continents.
All the while no communication or even confirmation that these are acknowledged issues.
this is a positive sign and hopefully things will be addressed promptly |

So another update: The blog is probably going out Wednesday after we looked at our schedule, realized there's another one we have to put out tomorrow and then a third we are doing on Thursday.
Additionally, there is a bug fix currently being tested that should hopefully resolve the framerate issues (I've heard the bug is causing halving of framerates in places). We don't think it'll get into Uprising 1.2 but should come shortly after. |

And thanks for the updates. Greatly appreciated.

you have no idea how helpful these kind of posts can be. keeping us in the loop of what problems are being worked on goes miles with this community. Im sure few understand the time and work it requires to successfully address various issues, but knowing they are being worked on restores hope in the dedicated ;) |

I'm afraid I can't say if it's a bug fix that'll make it right after 1.2 or if it'll have to wait for 1.3. That seriously depends on how the fix does in QA testing. |

Collision damage shall be fixed, and racial heavies implimented, and invisible walls baring thy way removed!!' sayith Sir Robin. And there was much rejoicing. And eating of minstrels. And songs were sung unto the holy CCP who said "NAY! Into that light we shall not go!" and proceeded to put a rainbow in the sky, saving many light suits, and there was much rejoicing. And eating of minstrels. And Sir Robin said: "It is done. Uprising 1.2 is here". And there was much rejoicing. And the aim bug was fixed. And the PC lag bug was fixed. And in his left hand Sir Robin held the tanks and said unto them "you shall live, until you die" and there was much rejoicing. And tanks received an HP buff. And in his right hand Sir Robin held armor-using infantry. And said unto them "you shall move fast like the wind" and there was much rejoicing. And ferroscale was released unto the world. And Sir Robin sat for a while, pondering the forums and blew a great wind upon the world and said "behold! the last of the Respecs has come" and there was much rejoicing. And Sir Robin said unto the immortals "behold! I have given you great wonders, and less great wonders, and allowed your kind to slay one another with impugnity. now a consequence shall befall those who slay not as one team, but as individuals" and closed his eyes and factional warfare was fixed, and team queing was implimented, and team play was brought to the masses. And there was much rejoicing."
