Dust 514 only attracts three types of people: super hardcore EVE maniacs (5% of the players), no life neckbeards that suck at life and want their choices to matter in a video game and will never be satisfied because video games are inherently pointless (15%), and bored ps3 ppl who think its funny to run people over (80%).
Removing lavs or nerfing them (keep in mind that when CCP nerfs something they absolutely obliterate it, just look at derpships) will drive away about 80% of the players. whatever hate i get from the forum junkies is completely invalidated by the fact that the 80% of the player base i'm trying to save you from losing doesn't even know this game has a forum. |

The shear number of murder taxi's using the free starter is a new thing and if this LAV gets nerfed people will adjust pretty quickly. The vehicle specialists already have access to decently fit LLAV and would probably remain mostly unaffected if they wish to continue running people over.
For the rest they will either choose to fight or AFK behind the redline etc. if you are using the free murder taxi then it suggests that you are still holding out hope and that you are still willing to play so I doubt a nerf to taxi's will have a dramatic impact on the player count, at least not at the level you are suggesting.
If you do have access to the real stats then please go ahead and share them but please reference the source material. |

This idea that eve players are either beard stroking super strategists or frothing sociopaths is wrong. Most eve players, about 70% of them are scared of thier own shadow and are terrified to be involved in any kind of combat other than PvE. The remaining 27% are frothing hot heads who are angry because they suck of CoD. 2% of eve players are moderates who will try anything, they just casually play and have lifes. The Last 1% are the stroky neck beard types of which you speak.
Its wierd because in many ways your posts echo that of the so called "pvper" in eve. |

I wish you were right, but I am rarely seeing more than 1-2 LAVs per match that spends all their time running people over. That give you a very low percentage of players enjoying running people over in LAVs.
My observations comes from having made an AV dropsuit specifically for LAV hunting, and I am disappointed in the low numbers of LAVs that are in each match. And many stops spawning a new LAV after I or others have destroyed their vehicle |

Just let LAVs continue to run people over but apply simple physics.

If I have 1000 HP and an LAV runs me over then the LAV should take 1000 damage. People will still be able to murder taxi but they will have to be cautious and spec their LAV to regen quickly so that now they can't just use a free item that can kill any infantry without any real consequence. They will still be able to kill anyone but killing a heavy will do some serious damage to the LAV, while killing a scout will be no big deal. |

totally disagree, the nubblets can just upgrade to a real LAV if the standard one gets removed. i honestly dont think it should be removed but limited maybe 5 call-ins per match if lazy gamers cant produce another LAV or way to play the game then its their loss nobody will care. |

Yep the Academy has a ridiculous number of taxi's. Nobody has enough SP to build an ok infantry fit as well as investing in AV. I found the best route is to sit on a large turret and kill all the vehicles as soon as the RDV appears. I think in one match on an alt, before I deleted it, I killed about 2 tanks and 10 LAVs. |

I agree that the rampant pub stomping which luckily is not consistent can be annoying when not being squadded, seeing stacked squads on the opposing team while you see 16 randoms on your own team.
BUT, to troll the academy does not make you a better player, wrong solution, it just makes you equal to the pub stomping squads if not worse. Use your LAV driving skills to driver over the pub stomping proto players instead, and they might actually change into cheaper dropsuits making the match satisfactory for more players, maybe except for the proto players.

So do you have anything to back up that statement? I can just as easily say "Keeping Shotguns is going to drive away 99% of players" but without something to back it up, well, its just a random statement, just like yours currently is.
Right now that, at most, is an opinion. You've no proof who has played CoD, you do not know if they do it because they're bored, think its funny, or whatever other reason, that % is completely made up and you have 0 evidence that any of them would leave if the free LAVs were nerfed or removed.
Look, I dislike MurderTaxi514 as much as the next person, but if you're going to make an argument against something, anything, make an actual argument, not random numbers and speculation, that stuff usually just hurts your cause a lot more than it helps. |

Have you tried to use keyboard and mouse? Not sure if I understand your problem correct, but I am having similar problems unless I use a mouse for aiming or I am unable to keep the crosshair on the target while moving around. I believe this is an advantage to the mouse but could also be that I need more time playing with the ds3 only. And ending up on another server than the server in your own region also puts you in a disadvantage going toe to toe with an equally skilled player. |

It also works in your favor as your opponent has the same problems as you have with the aiming. I actually find the aiming good using a ds3 in my left hand and mouse with my right hand. I am as bad at aiming now with the ds3 as I was in the previous build, I do not see any difference here. The nerf to mouse controls was needed to have equal tracking speeds between the two control schemes.
I only have problems aiming in CQC when playing on other servers than the one in my own region, both with mouse and ds3. I change to pure support logi and LAV hunting with plasma canon and av grenades which do not require the same amount of precision. |

Do you realize that you can use DualShock controllers in the PC too. ? In fact some people uses DS very effectively in games like BF3, or even CS in the PC. Of course, you never hear anyone asking for a DualShock Controller nerf in the PC, i wonder why. |
