So there has been tears over the SP system and rightly so as no one is happy with it, so here lis a unofficial vote on it
So here are the option and when voting please feel free to share any ideas so CCP can see them
1. Keep the current SP system but tweak it a lil to work right i.e. rollover, bigger cap
2. Have a complete passive SP System like EVE Online
Lets hear your voices on it
I will do a count up and update here every so often |

add a 3rd option. Don't change a thing.
You should make a survey/poll on google docs. It's quite nice. |

ummm
Where can i vote to eliminate it entirely?
....
Note: CCPs current solution is the matchmaking system....you might want to add that one in there as well....you know allowing people to vote for the actual change we are going to get rather then pie in the sky stuff we will never get. |

edit- only people who are complaining about it, is new players That's because proto vs proto would be expensive and require skill. Why do anything when pubstomping is so easy? It's the players getting pubstomped that complain. It isn't your problem, right? We less than 2mil sp players will just HTFU. |

I'd vote for this one
I think if it were completly passive like in EVE there'd just be one less incentive for people to play. DUST doesn't have all the things to do like EVE does. It's just run around & kill or get killed; there are other games like that which have better mechanics and are less buggy.
Also if I recall correctly one of the Devs said we would be getting the rollover. I want to say it was Foxfour but I can't really remember who said it and I could be completely wrong about them actually saying it (could have been a "we'll look into it"). |

Dust is Dying, ohnoes, did you know that Eve has been dying for 10 years now? I bet Dust will be dying for the next 10 too. |

The answers to your vote are biased, you need the option to keep the current system with no change, and a vote for no SP cap. |

Sorry to tell you this dude but all your deaths are not due to SP and gear. This is from the perspective of a player that is bad at this game in or out of a proto suit. |

It really only takes one Pub stomping by horrible carried players for a new player to leave.
Getting beat by good play does not bother me. "Oh i see what he did..GG...now i know what i need to do to win"
Getting killed by some idiot bunny hopping in an open area while your shots only take down his shields by 25% and then realizing you will have to do this for months...well that is something completely different.
The stats pages shows about a 1000 new character are made at peak hour for this game every day...many more during the other hours of the day....yet over the past month the number of peak hour players has dropped by 4000 players.
Take a wild guess what those new players are doing after their first PuB stomping and why they don't do the same thing with any other FPS on the market.

Option 1. Keep it the same.
Option 2. Make it like EVE Online
Option 3. No Cap at all
Option 4. Larger Cap do get more for what you do. |

Then you're really.. Really. REALLY bad, bro.
Speak for yourself. I threw on some tryhard proto gear, stats instantly went from a norm of around 8/3 kill-death to an interesting norm of around 24/3 as a norm for decent games. I think my best kill-death stats for a match today was 27-2 or something like that.
Sorry bro, but out there in the real world of online shooter gaming (not this fantasy carebear lala land that's been built in Dust), if you (for JUST ONE example) give a player access to twice as much hp than other players have, then throw them into the same match, it matters. I feel guilty when I wear the tryhard gear in this game.
One and a half more weeks to go, Dust. I said I'd give you 6 weeks, and I'm a gamer of my word. Problem is, the longer I stick around, the more negative my review of this game becomes whenever people ask me about it.
Maybe I'll see things a lot better when I get even more powerful gear, no? FYI, I find having ridicustupidly huge power advantages over other players in FPS shooters to be quite boring.... ridiculous.. and...... stupid.
I like a lot of the concept behind Dust514 However, the punishingly painful progression system COUPLED WITH the huge power gaps and interestingly priced cash shop just put too many cons on it for it to ever be worth a recommendation. Perhaps, things would be different if the game had a lot more content, a lot more fun gameplay, and ran a lot more smoothly but.... it doesn't. |

Actually I've come to a realization of why the cap is fine as is; it only wastes 2 days a week to hit it, and it allows me to play other games. Better games.
Dust is still in beta for me. Until it really gets out, I don't mind the small cap. |

And just think if people in dust did this, oh wait some of us don't lone wolf and we do spend SP wisely too
Option 1 give a roll over cap that compenstes for the time that they haven't played dust allowing new players to join and eventually be of equal standing with vets |

I think DUST is lacking in support for new players. The academy is great to seperate noobs from vets for a time, but they learn nothing, they earn nothing, and they stilll don't advance fast enough to catch up to vets.
The new matchmaking will improve on seperating noibs from vets in public matches, but they need a proper tutorial to teach them about the game and they stilk need a means to gain isk and sp fast enough to become competitive on our level before vets are too far out of reach. There also needs to be midrange content so people dont get bored with sp grinding

Neither- how about a fully merit based system... where you only earn XP when you complete objectives / kill people. That would remove AFK playing & also ensure people play, because they don't want to be behind. I should be rewarded for playing well- all the time, not until I hit some arbitrary cap!
This passive SP crap is for other noob games, not Dust. |
