Just because 90% of players use an AR does not mean it needs a nerf, it just means they jumped at a chance for some range with their weapon in this build. If you look at the kill feed from my pub matches, the majority of the time I will drop a person with either a grenade or a blueprint assault rifle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the AR doesn't need a nerf because I kill a large number of people with it (depressingly low KDR) but because it is meant to be an easy and reliable weapon for any noob to use. One that has less range than a Scrambler or Sniper rifle and one that unless it is skilled into it still will not decimate, contrary to popular belief from people saving money fitting by using militia gear when they can quite clearly use Officer level gear just as easily.

90% of players using the AR means that there's something wrong with weapon balance at the moment. I agree the AR doesn't need a nerf, but everything else needs a buff then.

I don't normally say this as it is usually not helpful in the slightest, but in this case it's apt... Adapt or Die. No, really, you have to pay attention to what your enemy is doing in this game and change your tactics accordingly. You don't get to pretend everyone else is irrelevant.

Why would they fix bugs when they can just keep releasing new stuff that (often) creates more bugs, knowing that people will continue to fund them? I know they are working hard to fix bugs, I'm not knocking them on that, but they should stop releasing things until each bug is sorted. Once all bugs are fixed, release something new. If that causes bugs, fix those before any more releases. Simple.

The weapons are all seemingly finely balanced it was the Uprising 1.0 Tac AR that drove people to the weapon class and they are a weapon that is featured prominently in most FPS games. CCP new this and put the weapon in for a genre familiarity bonus to new players. There are many weapons that kill quicker and they are being used more predominantly in the game. Buffing/nerfing something should only be done when there is an obvious imballance. The MD took a radius and splash nerf (based on how many people were using it in the office) and the nanohive nerf along with the HP buff all suits got killed the weapon and it's bugged. The HMG took a major damage/range nerf that literally killed the weapon but was buffed back up due to a petition. Scrambler rifle has a skill that does nothing for the assault variant and should have more range than the AR because it's a laser weapon. Plasma Cannon came in the game pre-nerfed. The issue is that there isn't incentive for other weapons to be used outside of them looking cool, looking for a challenge, or their users are bored with the AR, which is the only reliable/serviceable weapon in the game right now.

I have to run away from just about everything to not get dead. If I manage to get close enough to you to take you out with a shotgun then I damn well earned that kill. If I kill you with a shotgun because you ran up close to me even though you're using a weapon that gives you a massive advantage over me if you keep me at range, that's your own fault for being terrible at the game.

Did you know, That the game that is on the top (COD) shotguns are just as powerful, maybe even more powerful than the ones in Dust. It looks like you're just mad because you got killed by one. .
