they didn't lose all games to Eon. I know this cause we have lost to SI before as well as WTF, I even recall losing a close match to Betamax. and many more matches were very close. when CRONOS is serious they are formidable foes. I don't think anyone should be arguing that.

Now the lag makes EU v US very difficult for both sides. enough so I dare say could be a large factor in their backing off PC. trust there are many occasions I wonder how much more I can take myself cause this is the year 2013 and often deal with the lag of when broadband was first introduced 15-20 years ago (or whenever it was)

We lost one district to SI (after Vacuum attacked it 6 times and got the clone count down). That is the only district we have lost in combat since PC started. We've taken about 10 CRONOS districts. I like your alternative history lesson though, I sure feel real sore

if you want our stuff you better be prepared to fight for it because we won't be giving it away.

We got out gungamed/maneuvered in the first round. This is good for the game, had we been at even efficiency with EoN and N-F from day one in the PC, nothing would have stopped the economic machine Sha took. There is no going around it: EoN and N-F simply won way too high a % of ground fights, which is why they could keep attacking more with the morale of the victor and clone spoils.

Now we go through a learning process which includes defending the rest of our districts until the end and coming back stronger. The impetfects method of winning everything on ground seems like a good plan.

Isn't it time for N-F and EoN to duke it out now and see which one drops out of the box next? I'm curious to see if EoN leadership is actually a puppet government, since you have given free districts to N-F etc. That would be the best play in dust history.

Its hard to be excited about playing a game that has poor development and when most PC matches end up the same way as a pub match it gets boring taking all the time and energy necessary to attack a district 3-4 times over a 3-4 day period. CCP made it so that its impossible to actually move with any kind of rapidity through PC. Kains idea of being able to immediately launch a second assault if you win your first assault should have been the way PC works. Then if you win you can continue to press your advantage. Instead the game forces you to take days just to flip 1 district.

The issue without clone packs was that we had literally delegated 10 alt corps to start off simultaneously with, when the initial single pack mechanics were in place. That would have burned us out in SI much faster.

I wholeheartedly agree with mavados concern. History not only shows PC is a grind, but also that successive losses cause the failure cascade in morale of any alliance and drives them out of the game straight away for the most part. This would also happen to the loser of N-F vs. EoN war.

I'm playing on the losing team so I'm forever butthurt! I'm an illiterate teen than sends out hatemail even when my team wins. I get so mad sometimes I can't spell **** to save my life! On the CRONOS topic.

Firstly, there has been no officIal statement about them quitting so they haven't and they still have active members playing PC battles but have to no show to some because not enough players are on in a 150(plus SA 110 = 250+) man corp.

I played the most PC battles in SI and CRONOS i can say that with confidence, i helped everyone in the alliance but as soon as we lost a few games in SI people gave up and didn't come on to play games(important ones). the loss streak began on a thursday/friday where we lost 10+ in them two days and after that people began to be "burnt out" it was an excuse for not playing. I carried on playing through all these losses for a full week at the end we had 25+ losses 3-4 wins it was horrible. Our main players and directors stayed off and decide not to help(Sha is not included he had things more important) there was only one mainly active director and he was in SA!

I could carry on with details but, thats not needed. SI/CRONOS still carry on playing battles even though in their mind they know they will not have a good game.

I left SI due to lack of direction and leadership.

Cronos is the group of kids that are the dipshit bullies on the playground that won't let anyone else play on the swings. They also taunt everyone that they have control of the swings and no one else can or will get near them because they are awesome and everyone else sucks. A couple of kids (NF \ Eon) band together and beat up the bullies freeing up the swing set for the rest of the playground to play. The two tough kids that just knocked out the 5 dipshits walk away saying "we didn't want the swings, just you"... Bully kids cry that it's not fair since you two are leaving the swing set anyway. But that doesn't really matter because you did what you came to do, are taking a break, and then will come swing when you feel like it.

We're not quite that nice of kids. We may have removed the bully, but last I heard the swings were not free. I don't mind letting you have a swing of your own to do what you want with, but you're going to have to pay some ISK for it, to cover you know the medical bills I got from removing that bully.

PC is in itself the strong bullying the weak for the most part. I think we play a role in that of course. We also are doing our best to protect the game from being ruined by that kind of behavior applied in excess. Helping Dust Uni after CRONOS destroyed them is one thing that comes to mind, and if any small player groups want to give PC a shot we've got plenty of land for sale, might even ring a bit if you buy some districts since things are getting a bit dull in our space. Pressing a hard offensive on an alliance trying to hold the entire map for themselves isn't exactly bullying. Then again I guess to the players we are making log in 4-5 times a day to fight it is.

The problem is when corps want to hold as many districts as they see on the map and then when you're fighting intense PC battles all day, every day, some of which you're going to lose just by virtue of the fact that you're fighting so many, then people burn out and stop playing.

It would sort of be like in an MMORPG when your clan decides it wants to raid every top-tier dungeon all day and night for weeks straight. People are going to get tired, frustrated, and leave. Except here it's even worse because you can't choose to take a night off due to the fact that it isn't your choice when you get attacked.

If corps only took the number of districts they could effectively defend--not so few that they got bored and not so many they were overwhelmed--then you'd all have a much better time. I still like PC a lot (it's one of the few reasons I play Dust) because we don't have 24 districts that we try to defend every hour of every day.

If you sell off some districts and focus on key ones, then that alleviates both the problem of burning out, and it helps corps who aren't in PC get a foothold (which makes PC more interesting as a whole when more corps are involved).

Not intended?

Console FPS players are just not used to this type of game. They are used to playing when they want, against who they want, where they want. They play for stats in controlled environments. If it doesn't suit them they simply leave a game without consequence and play in their comfort zone, etc.

95% of these players have not even played in true competitive environments like this before. They believe they are good because they play pub matches the same way, with short-sightedness. When an actual war hits, they fold up and run back to pub matches or different games where they can quit games and stomp on n00bs again.

There is one thing pretty much any respectable non-delusional skilled player knows in their hearts. No one knows who has the better corp/players.

We played Eon a lot today/last night. When we had the server we won. Every time. When we didn't have the server we lost. Every time. PC currently is frustrating and burning people out not because of the frequency of the fights or the delay between attacks. Awoxing is a cute red herring but really doesn't matter. It's just the code for the PC battles sucks. Lag, rubber banding, frame rate issues, etc...

We are all frustrated because we don't KNOW how any match woulda gone were everyone on equal footing. All this you suck we are awesome bullshit is patently ridiculous. IF PC is fixed so that games run smoothly for everyone involved these kinds of threads will be fine. People will have no problem Playing. Until then it's all delusion.
