@Heinrich Very happy to hear this. :) And thanks to the CPM for the work you guys do! The bridge you provide between the player-base and CCP has a massive impact, and this is not lost on the community (well, the key members of the community anyway ;) ).
Very happy to see CCP's new direction relating to the community/CPM. :D |

In all honesty that is good idea. Doesn't need to be earth shaking but a message to the customer base form the man ultimately responsible for delivering services to them.
My suspicion is that come FanFest there will be significant red meat for all of us in regards to immediate updates and long term development for Dust. |

From what Jenza is hinting, there will be a lot of red meat at fan fest, but of the Red Wedding variety.

Sad to see the player population drastically decline from 10k to our current 2-3k. All this sacrifice after chrome for a few more weapons and massive amounts of time spend swinging the pendulum from OP to UP and so on.
With 1.7 we have first saw real integration between DUST and EvE with FW and introduction of the LP store. Took 8 months to achieve this link at a basic level and its deeply disappointing to not see any mention of the BIG PICTURE regarding dust.
No talk of player to player trading, some stimulation of our DUST economy, fluctuating prices, or maybe a direct economical link with EvE? What about being able to fire sky fire battery and blow up ships in orbit and integrading resources on DUST planets for EvE pilots?
All the unique points of DUST that make this game one of a kind are neglected and CPM seem to have no interest in defending the bigger vision of the game. If i wanted a repackaged BATTLEFIELD 4 i would already be on the next console playing meaningless games on meaningless servers with great graphics and tons of already balanced guns and vehicles.
Where is this DUST identity? Has it been forgotten in our pursuit of small time content and endless pursuit to balance a wide array of weapons and suits and vehicles that are not even out yet ?
What once seemed a ambitious project with great vision is beginning to look real dull and empty.
I urge the CPM to take this statement in consideration while in their next meeting. |

Blame the devs stubborn refusal to jump to the PS4 ASAP. I'm not playing on the PS3 forever. |

There are still only a few million PS4's compared to 80 million PS3 consoles. Maybe, but there's also a lot less games on the PS4, so people might play Dust because they have nothing else.
Plus some people might also not even have PS+ which is a huge plus for Dust since you don't need PS+ to play.
PS4 is the future so I don't know why they want to continue developing for the PS3 for much longer.
With that said though, we still don't know if Sony simply said no to getting Dust on the PS4 (for now at least) even if CCP wanted it. I can imagine Sony won't promote the PS4 with a flop like Dust for now.

Late February and....
Either the changes already listed (Racial Suit Completion, Equipment and Weapon 'balance') are it, or there's a nice information embargo on further good things.
I'm leaning on the former, based on previous experience, but given the promises of the formerly new, CCP Rogue...
Quote:With DUST 514, my mission is to give you the most intense and engaging experience possible for a free-to-play online multiplayer shooter in the EVE Universe. This requires focusing primarily on the core gameplay, but also on a deep and rewarding link to EVE Online and everything that comes with it: the incredibly immersive fiction, sandbox design, best-in-class player-driven economy, and much more. This is where DUST 514 differentiates itself completely from all other shooters and is why I love the game. Features such as player trade, valuable resources transferable and useable between DUST and EVE, and new game modes that capture the sandbox nature of our game, are all building blocks towards that vision. We will be revealing more details at EVE Vegas later this month, followed by in-depth articles, developer blogs, and more.
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/10/a-message-from-the-executive-producer/
We *should* have more.
5 months is enough time to put back in things that we've already seen working (more game modes, Corp Battles, ISK and BPOs (as a precursor to industry) from EVE).
As far as the 'Sandbox' and Economy and 'deep, rewarding links to EVE' I have serious doubts we'll see anything in the next 6 months.
It's kinda sad.
We'll always have the MetaGame, but that's not CCP's to make anyway.
Nothing has been indicated on the forums that any of these aforementioned issues are being addressed in anything approaching a public manner or with an announced roadmap at all.
There are currently at least as many weapons and (previously promised) vehicles and vehicle weapons missing as there are Dropsuits coming in 1.8.
Let alone Additional Maps, Alternate Planetary Environments, PvE, Match Size Increases, EVE Based Transport (WarBarges), Resource Trading/Crafting, NullSec Influences, etc, etc.
Since Chromosome it feels to me that Dust has retracted in terms of features and options for different types of gameplay, despite the addition of equipment and weapons and suits, and FW and PC battles, its completely discouraging when compared to the well known (and overstated by CCP, at every turn) potential of New Eden. |

Actually, they pretty much did here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=143764
It's a little less formal, but it's three CPM chiming in on current events behind the scenes.

Come on CPM, Official Statements on progress... PLEASE.
Just because the community mostly understands the present timelines (1.8 info is out, and 2.0 is coming to be previewed at least, at Fanfest.) doesn't mean you can't report on abstracts.
Ex: "CPM A, B and C communicated with EP regarding Next release"
"discussions with CCP working group X are stalled, Z number of CPM raised issues remain unaddressed, out of Y issues raised regarding (topic redacted)"
"CCP contacted CPM members for reaction after release of DevBlog#"
"CPM members X discussed Planetary Conquest Exploits with CCP"
"CPM member X encouraged Dust EP to continue development of new game modes"
Is it against your NDA to discuss the process of arriving at an announced result? We know a number of changes that are about to happen, but we'd probably like to hear CPM member's opinion of the process that arrived at those changes. It's clear that you've had a great hand in working to increase TTK, but as it's implemented vs how it was advocated is an interesting thing you could make statements about.
This is just a plea to stick to the process of regular, official CPM, status updates and communication.
Weekly.... Activity.... Reports.
cheers.

Sigourney, do you actually read CPM posts at all? Or try to engage the CPM here or via other communication mediums?
Have you ever looked here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=search&cpmbadge=1
Or check this post, which talks about what they've actively been discussing with CCP: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1933059#post1933059
The CPM is very actively communicating, they're just no longer using this thread.

I'm not accusing them of not communicating, if anything I'm accusing them of not communicating properly, via the format and schedule they set up themselves for communications.
